They still make us do it, but no one pretends it makes any sense. Actually is that better or worse?</p> <p>However I was politely yelled at for scooping ice into a cube and pouring brewed iced coffee over the ice (that was the way I had been taught to make iced) one of my first few days working on the floor -- we were instead supposed to pour the iced coffee into the empty cube and then scoop in ice with a frappuccino scoop or something, cannibalizing that ice bin and sploshing coffee everywhere. Later we were told we could pour it over ice again, but I'm not entirely clear on whether that actually happened.</p> <p>But it would scare me more if instead of trumpets blaring and saying 'we moved the mocha! Huzzah!' they said 'this is where the mocha has always been. War is peace.' So I guess I like revolutionary manifestos more than 1984?? Oy. At least I don't work at a store that is like Lord of the Flies, or between 1984 and Lord of the Flies it'd be middle school english class all over again. Sieg heil!" THEN 2 months later it changes and no one says ****. I can't even take their earnest BS corporate language seriously anymore. Although I didn't really in the first place. </p>
