Ensure that your SM orders the correct packet from the RP order. If not, punch them in the face. The content in there is actually quite informative and dense. It will prepare you well for all cash management duties, deployment, performance management and how to research/locate problems with your floor and the like. I was opening and closing alone for months by the time they made me do all my modules and certification. </p> http://www.ihatestarbucks.com/bb/topic.php?id=5607#post-76782 Mon, 20 Aug 2012 21:18:49 +0000 eightpumpchai 76782@http://www.ihatestarbucks.com/bb/ <p>^all this. you have to do the modules and crap because... well, it's required, but it was kinda funny because no one made me do mine when I got promoted, I literally was told, hey you're transferring next week so read these books and I got through half of them and ran one shift at my old store and then transferred and promoted... and about 6 months in my SM was all like, you've got all this unfinished training so you have to do it and I had to watch videos on stuff I already knew how to do... but I digress.<br /> Ask your current SS's if you can run shifts, shadow them while they're doing the food order in the morning, get hands on experience with counting tills. Also make sure you understand how breaks are run- it's super simple but talk to your shifts and see if you can get the chance to deploy for the day and run the breaks so you have that experience. The modules won't do you much good there so outdated. I agree with coffeebeanisbetter. Start running the show.
