The allegory didn't make much sense without the last chapter. I havent read the book in ages though and not even sure where my copy is these days... I wrote a big, long paper on it for my Cold War and Film class last year, but I sort of compared/contrasted the book and the film and delved into the sociopolitical elements of both ... yeah. It was great. I'll stop yapping about it and bash Starbucks some more before the You Must Hate Starbucks bulletin board police show up and blame me for making this a happy site. We have a lot of those women around here. Maybe they're everywhere, I don't know. But they take certain pride/pleasure in ordering something "skim" or "skinny" and I take equal pleasure in correcting them with "nonfat." I really dislike that damn skinny latte promo - forcing us to start using the term, so now half the customers order "skinny" but they don't really want sugar-free syrup, or syrup at all, they just want nonfat. Or vice versa. I'm not sure if my SM knows how to call drinks correctly.
