   Does every starbucks have the same type of partners?

   The Quiet One: The barista that is quite but all the partners like them, they get **** done but don't talk very much.

   The Serious One: The barista/shift that takes their job too seriously and tries to follow the rules, mostly because they are paranoid.

   The Kool-Aid Drinker: The barista/shift that thinks of this job as their career, they are one step beyond 'the serious one' and will be a nark.

   The Trouble Maker: The barista that is loud, funny, but sometimes obnoxious. They will pull pranks for no reason, if they were fired they would make it a huge joke.

   The Loud One: The barista that does not filter themselves around customers, they will decaf someone if they give them a dirty look. They are outspoken but don't especially hate their jobs (more than anyone else).

   The apathetic one: This barista does not care, they punch in and punch out, do their job but could give two **** about the company. If fired they would shrug, go home, and sleep.

   The Shift from Satan's Womb: This Shift will go out their way to correct you/make your day a living hell. They get pleasure from your pain. "you missed a spot"

   The Bill Payer: They work here just to support themselves (doesn't everyone?) they follow the rules, are nice, have good closes, but really don't like their jobs at all. If offered another job they would take it. They are like 'the apathetic one' only they would care if they were fired.

   The Fighter: This partner is always having problems with something, usually the SM. They didn't get their day off, the new rules **** them off, they might swear one the floor, this job is the monster in their life.

   'The art school kid' - pretentious, listens to hip music, chain smokes, shaggy hair,and glasses...will keep working at starbucks after graduation

   'The lazy one' - the person you don't want to close with. This can be a shift or barista. Goes in the back room for long periods of time and/or tends to disappear. You do all of the work and take care of all of the customers. You want to slap this person in the face.

   I **** hate the hipster pretentious **** partner. They truly annoy me because they feel as though they are special and hilarious with their "ironic" and "original" conversations and music that them and all of their lookalike friends listen to. The funny thing is is that they go to school for 5 years getting a masters in something like philosophy where that has limited to no job possibilities.

   I guess as long as you look cool right?

    Oh yeah..the hipster pretentious..I had one at my store. He always made me feel stupid when i didnt get his jokes. Glad he quit.

    I'll describe my co-worker from SM to Barista.
    A) Manager that is cool, but doesn't really do his/her job by enforcing policy or rules.
    B) Asm that is worthless, but is fun to work with because of their sense of humor.
    C) Asm that is really attractive and works really hard
    D) Asm that is laid back, seems like he/she could be in a band. Relays messages to you that the SM said to them,to give to you, but says it in a very cool way.
    E) SS that complains about everything ( usually opener)
    F) SS that micromanages everyone, the ****/**** of the store.
    G) SS that everyone loves to work with. You've probably have met their Significant other.
    H) SS that does everything slow, always gets out late from their shift.
    I) Barista that works really hard and has potential to be SS, but never will because they keep **** him/her.
    J) Barista that hasn't gotten laid in awhile and doesn't remember the last time he/she had a BF/GF. Usually these types are depressed at work. I notice these types don't usually groom their hair.
    K) Barista that has another job, so when they come here, they slack off.
    L) barista that is there temporarily until their big break comes, because their parents know they didn't move there for Starbucks, but to become the next Oscar winning Actor/Actress.
    M) Barista that gets stoned everyday

    as someone that is potentially the hipster pretentious one, the fact that i'm educated and can make high brow jokes and remarks shouldn't mean i have to stop because you didn't pick up a book or two in your life beyond twilight or harry potter and listen to bands like nickelback, creed, or p.o.d. granted there are some truly obnoxious people in this world, im proud to potentially be one of them, if only to heighten the level of conversation to aspects of philosophy, art, anthropology, literature, just so i'm not stuck listening to baboons groaning on about some sports team. cause sports matters? i'd say with those people take them with a grain of salt that they are probably overly educated in a country that doesn't value intelligence but values who is willing to **** over someone else to get ahead. if nothing else the best way to annoy them is to just stare at them blankly when they speak. nothing pisses off that type more than no attention or complete apathy.

    my addition to this list: "the idiot"- the one you have to make lists of tasks up for cause after nearly a year of working there they still haven't caught on to what needs to get done, its the same **** everyday. the idiot is also known to start one task forget and go back to slightly whipping the counter with a dirty rag in an attempt to seem like they are doing something cause they just don't know what else to do. this is the one that asks how to make a backup when the directions are on the bag. The idiot regularly wants to share about their personal life and blather on about some significant other in an attempt to share some pathetic part of their existence cause really they know deep down 20 years later they will still be here cause they are stupid.

    ilivetodecaf - it's not about intelligence, one can be an intelligent person without trying to convey a certain 'image'. One can be intelligent without being a pretentious ****. You can read good books, listen to good music, and enjoy existentialism without showing off and shoving it in everyone's face. The kind of person we [or at least I] am talking about is the kid that thinks they are enlightened because they have read a couple of Palanhiuk novels, LOVE the **** Beatles, take artsy photographs, and think they are oh so special. They are constantly building their image and lack the down to earth factor.

    ilivetodecaf- there are plenty of educated people who would much rather have casual conversation with other people about sports teams than constantly have conversations about philosophy, religion and politics. I have relatives with Ivy league educations with the potential to discuss biochemistry, nuclear physics and the politics involved in Ancient Rome, but they would much rather talk to their friends about what's going on with baseball.

    It's pretty snobby and closed minded to write people off just because they have different interests or are "less educated" than you. My opinion of other people and my respect is not based on how long they went to school, what books they read, what music they listen to. It's based on how they treat other people that shows their true character.

    theres definitely the indie hipster wannabe that only works at starbucks to make his image a little more legit, they criticize the music thats playing or glorify it depending on how many partners actually recognize the song, always add matcha to their drinks.

    no taichilatte its not snobby its frustrated, and when i say they are talking about sports im not referring to your so called ivy leagued educated relatives that work for starbucks? since that's whom we are referring to in this thread (starbucks employees), im referring to the knuckle dragging misanthropes that wouldn't know the difference between Monet and Manet, but would rather care about some idiots ability to throw, kick, or hit a ball. but then again i sincerely believe competitive sports and the amount of money wasted on them in america saddening. but that is a side issue from wanting to engage in enlightening conversation with people or not at all. i don't subscribe to the notions that speaking should be done just to fill the voids of silence with words so there is comfort.

    the girl i work with most is the loud one, throw in a dash of raging **** and there you have it (oh and she thinks she's hot **** because she works at STARBUCKS)
    then there's my manager who is def satan
    also the kool aid worker (basically ties with satan on same level of disdain)
    and as decaf pointed out, THE IDIOT stands around saying "uhmm" until you tell them what to do, or takes over YOUR projects
    god i hate that, when i'm starting something that will take a long time, maybe until my shift is over but my project is robbed by the idiot
    we also have the serious one but she also gives WAY too much info about her self, she is sweet tho despite being extremley weird

    I'm the loud one, and usually put my foot in my mouth when it comes to customers till my boss whispers, "Assbucks, stop talking!" In fact, posted my rant about Cupsize Guy while I was still angry, and now I'm worried it'll get me fired. Does anybody know how I can delete it?

    Wow, assbucks, I don't know about deleting, but if you didn't use specific information, you should be alright.
    As for myself, I would definetly categorize myself as the Quiet Fighter (think Crouching Shift Lead, Hidden Dissenter). I try to make this place a little less hellish for my coworkers.
    As for the pretentious hipsters, my district is full of them. My grandma always said, "if you must put on a show of how smart you are, it only sounds like you're trying to convince YOURSELF."
    @ilivetodecaf: I know your pain. There's nothing wrong with a lil bit o intellectual stimulation, but we know not everyone cares or has the capacity to interact. I have surrounded myself with the types that vibe with me. And they don't read **** Twilight (god that was AWFUL AND BORING-WHAT **** DRIVEL!) BTW, "Haunted" wasn't too bad!

    you can't forget about the nazi partner: the one who changes everything (usually an sm...but can be a asm or ss) who has to have it their way (usually making your store how their old store once was or is).

    As for me...i'm the quiet/fighter. Everyone likes me (not to sound arrogant) but i keep complaining about the changes my store has gone through (as in four managers in two years...lots of changes that happen for no reason). But i'm also the prankster...usually the first one to take the seal out of the whipped cream nozzles for new partners...or some older ones who forget to check...hehehe
    And i guess i'm "I" on gloomys list...i passed up on becoming a SS because i didn't think i was ready...until i came to regret my decision and now because of the flippin economy i am stuck in this boring position. But at least it is a job.

    I would describe myself as the apathetic bill payer but, lately I could see myself as a fighter because of all the **** i have to deal with from my SM.

    My Sm wouldn't be conceived from the womb of satan but, she would be satan herself! She is also a nark who will say bad things about you or exagerate stories just to have something to say at weekly SM huddles
