Two customers, one white, one black, ordered their drinks. The black woman ordered first, but asked for decaf, and the first time I poured her shots they came out watery. DOH! I needed to refill the decaf. Okay, no biggie. Due to this the other drink got done first, and thus, got served first.
While I worked on her drink I happened to continue a conversation with my coworker about a really good local chicken restaurant where they serve fried chicken and ravioli and stuff... So, I finish talking about how awesome their ravioli is and hand her the drink.
She then asks to speak to my manager, and I inform her that the manager isn't working today, but that as the shift supervisor, I would do my best to help her. She then started asking why the other woman got her drink first... I explained to her exactly what happened, to which she responded, "yeah, I know why I got my drink after that white lady."
She then asked for a refund, which I did without complaint, though assuring her that it was not my intention to place her drink behind the other ladies drink, simply that circumstances made it so that the other drink was done first. When she signed the receipt for the refund she wrote underneath: "Terrible service" and took my DM's card which was displayed on the POS. The moment she left I snipped her **** comment off of the receipt...
SO ... the next three days my DM mysteriously got complaints from 3 different names, each person talking about how lazy and rude our staff are and that we're racists. Ugh.
She, of course, sent copies of each letter to the SM... and I noticed something. The same words were misspelled on each letter, despite coming from 3 "different" people. Ugh.
