How do people not know what these words mean? I have known since I was five that mocha means chocolate with coffee, and java is slang for coffee. So why do I get so many questions like "a mocha... does that have chocolate in it?" Or people returning the Java chip frappuccino that they got for their 2 year old because it has coffee in it.
And of course pronunciation:
mo-ch-a
moksha
matcha
etc.
I had a customer ask me if a mocha frappucino was "somewhat sweet". I wanted to say "no, it has lots of unsweetened chocolate and coffee in it blended with ice, it's really not sweet at all." That would be disgusting!
I especially detest those smart-a** disgistomers who insist on educating us on the true meaning of mocha( yes, we KNOW it's a region, we didn't name the friggin drink, we just work here!).

WE JUST WORK HERE! lol. i hate people that come in and "give us lesson" on the cr*p we sell! duh. we know. but we didn't name the beverages. we are just getting paid to sell it. if you have a TRUE complaint about the company and it's products and name origins, contact the company!!!!!! don't complain to the barista and because you think we have some sort of 'inside connection' we will report your complaint to!
Yeah, we had a customer call to day to ask why we were supporting "Partner Pride Day" in our area. She was really angry that Starbucks "had those kinds of values". My manager was trying really hard to be professional but I could tell he just wanted to tell her to f-off. I mean really? You're going to call a STORE to complain about that? Call corporate you dolt, and they'll tell you to quit being a bigot!
