I worked my first clopen last week. The opener had a family emergency and there was no one else available. We have been understaffed for months and were severely understaffed and over worked that night. We had a horrble rushed close. (Since I was going to be back in 5 hours I really didn't care.) The next morning our milk guy came before we opened and didn't lock the door behind him. So some suit comes waltzing in before we opened. He proceeds to order 3 drinks without asking if we were open (there were no lights on in the cafe.) He hands me a partner card when he pays, he was obviously corporate. He then told me that our bathroom was not stocked. I said ok and walked away. I was pretty close to telling him to **** off. I hate corporate.

you should have kicked him out and said the store wasn't open. who walks into a store with no lights on and expects to be served? customers are stupid. just because someone is in the store does NOT mean you are open. sorry. they **** me off.

dude i totally know how you feel. For one, thats complete bull****, corporate knows about the stuipd "10 minute" rule, so suit guy should have known better than waltz in, and if he works for sbux, he obviously knows your not open cuz the lights were off. what a deusch. What an ****, i would have told him you werent open yet, you wouldnt be in the wrong cuz its true so its not like he could have said anything

I wouldn't give two s***s on who he was even if it was dear old Howie. I would have told him to get the hell out and shut the f*** up! I will serve you when I d*** well feel like it! God, I swear how they get to their spots in corporate is a mystery to me because my DM has never even made a latte before but yet he is sitting there telling me how to make it over my shoulder! I tell you they need to get off their high horse and let me do my f****** job because I know more about coffee than he does and I have worked for the company longer than he has! He just needs to go and get me supplies like a good whipping boy should.
As to crapaccinos, Sorry bout that. I know how that feels because I used to be the one everyone called because I lived two blocks away. Therefore I was always available even when I said I wasn't. Now I live 20 mins. away and I tell them in more words than necessary to leave me alone.Posted 3 years ago # -
I get corporate all the time, coming in to get their mark out, ALWAYS during a rush, ALWAYS needing it ground. They just watch you like they're someone important who's gonna get you in trouble if you don't do everything perfectly.

you know, in my district, we don't have the 10 minute rule, and if howard shultz walked in to my store before I had it opened, i'd tell him to wait. regardless, a partner, whether a suit or not, should know better.

Corporate is ****, they have no clue what we have to deal with on the fore front. They show us little videos of how starbucks works with the customer, when it is the total opposite. They think if you show customers a fake happiness that they would like you more. Wrong, customers like people who are real and don't fake it in front of them. My customers don't want to have someone taking their order with huge eyes and grinning like an idiot.
