hey..long time reader, first time posting. i worked for starbucks for about 6 months a year or so ago. i had to quit- and i gave my 2 weeks notice. since then, i've relocated, and have had trouble finding another job. i'm thinking about applying to starbucks again, but i really don't want my old manager to find out that i'm applying again. i'm almost certain that i'm listed as eligible for re-hire, but do they normally just check that in the computer or actually call my former store? thanks!

I would think they just check on the computer, because when you're applying elsewhere there's a number you can give prospective employers where sbux will just tell them how long you worked and what your position was.
I'm guessing they'd only call the former store if you are applying in the same district or something.
I do know this, though: My SM got to a management position despite having quit and come back a few different times. I don't see why someone who just wants to be a barista shouldn't get hired back.

a lot of stores love to hire rehires, bc theyre already trained on the basics, and just need some basic retraining to be brought up to speed... so I agree, as long as youre truthful and left on good terms, it should be g2g, just tell them you were there before, you should have a partner number... thatll still be your number...work applications usually have spots that say have you ever worked/applied before....if im not mistaken. if not, tell the manager when you go in for an interview...
