How can I give my 2 weeks and never go back?

I was going to just quit; however, I want the job reference.

I have been very ill. Perhaps I can try to get my shifts covered and just say I'm unavailable do to medical problems? This time of year, I'm not sure IF I can get the shifts covered.

The catty BS is too stressful and I can't handle a person 12 years my junior barking orders at (when she's not even my manager) just to feel superior.
I am so better than this. I'm not even receiving a paycheck anymore......it's all just going for insurance, which is about to expire in several weeks. My mental and physical health is being affected every time I work and it's just not worth it!

Any suggestions would be HIGHLY appreciated! Thanks to all ;)

While some people will not cover any shifts this season, many others, such as myself, will take ANY available shift at any store nearby to make some extra money for the holidays. Talk with your manager, explain the situation, and if they need you in for some shifts just call other stores, I'm sure you'll get them covered.

I'm not sure what the issue is here? I agree with amyness, just got in, give your two weeks, or call, or drop off a letter. You don't need to explain yourself, just say, due to personal health reasons, you can no longer be employed there, and consider this your 2 week notice. No need to over complicate it.

I just wanted to make sure I could still get a good reference, hence the concern to get the shifts covered.
I think I will just fax in my two weeks.
Do they make you turn in your apron? **** my tips.....I'm sure there only 4 bucks anyway ::P
I think I'll say I am hospitalized or some ****.
I never want to go back there again

Give your two week notice and then put a note up with your hours to give away and if you lucky they will all get covered.

Just write a note saying you're giving your two weeks and don't want to be scheduled anymore after that. No explanation needed. Not your responsibility to get the hours covered, even if another partner quits at the same time. Your manager will simply hire someone else to replace you, they'll be given the same minimal training and then thrown into lion's den soon after. Life will go on for everyone and SB will continue to make its billions.

haaaaaaaaaaaaa! Decaff4u! been there almost a year and worked bar only a dozen times. I usually got dishes or the register. F%&CING B**LS*T :P
