i just thought i'd announce that.
reading posts from this makes me freaking crack up, and reading comments/stories we can relate to, as partners/ex partners. it's good to know i'm not the only one who dealt with this ****.

I just had the worst shift at my 6 months of Starbucks. I just ran home, googled I hate starbucks, and this site is hilarious & I had to join! Thank you for making me not insane !!

I just had one other barista with me at the store, and realized how ungrateful customers are, and that I am not an octopus and cannot make 30 drinks at once. And they're all just staring me down impatiently, and saying things that are not even marked on the cup so they pay less. I was just so annoyed :( and do not want to have to deal with running out of nonfat milk, how is that my fault!? Tell the manager...not the barista who has no control on milk orders.

out of nonfat? strategically turn milk so labels can't be seen from handoff plane. pour whatever milk you'd like into nonfat pitcher. problem solved.

I frequently get verbally abused for things I have no control over: the price hikes, the kinds of coffee we brew daily, the way the beans are roasted. Don't worry, it's not just you, or your store. It's this entire chain. It breeds evil. Seriously. Why the fu%k would a duma$$ disgustomer yell at a girl who makes minimum wage and lives in poverty? I obviously have no control over the the Grinch's dumb policies.

we've ran out of non fat quite a few times at my store. i laughed. we've ran out of WM and chai and such. funny crap.

I would sometimes turn the pitchers so you can't see the label on it too...for those hawks who like to stand over the counter and watch you make the drinks...or make it on the machine next to it where they couldn't see. Screwing up drinks is fun. I was always tempted to put lemon juice into the coffee lol

i totally use whatever milk picture is ready to use. 2 percent, non fat, whatever...minimum wage assures your getting your perfect drink. ive been knows to GASP reheat milk. dont tell anyone!!!!

haha last weekend my store ran out of ALL milk products. seriously. 2%, nonfat, heavy cream, 1/2 & 1/2...by the end of the night we had 2 gallons of whole milk left. and soy of course.
priceless.
we're pretty much a crappy store. like other baristas (and former ones) come in and ask for, well, every last thing we happen to be out of that day, and we've seriously had people be like "you're wonderful. you, as a person, really are. but your manager sucks balls. i've never seen a more poorly run store in my history as a customer or barista. every time we come to this location, you're out of something major. does your manager just not UNDERSTAND how to order?"
anyway, he made my friend and i laugh uncontrollably for a while. then we gave him one of those IVR surveys (you know, the ones my manager has us keep and give to her, so she can call them all in. because our scores were so low) and some free pastries (oops it broke, sample time!) and sent him on his merry way, for a moment feeling just a bit better about our station in life.

I've been using whatever milk I have hot for a long time, and not one customer has ever noticed the difference, at least they haven't said so. And as pissy and complaining as our customers are, I'm sure they would have complained by now. I also don't worry about "extra hot" orders...they get whatever we've got ready to go, especially in drive thru. They think if they order it extra hot they'll get fresh milk...think again!

AMEN!!!! again, minimum wage assures that the customers will get exactly what they want. especially drive thru!! here ya go! adios and thanks for choosing starbucks!!! yeah...i use whatever milk i got handy. not a single complain. also...there is ALOT of decaf flying out the window to rude customers at 6am. trust that!!! i am a super sweet guy and these rude ****@@@@@ have NO IDEA that they just wasted 5 bucks on empty calories. love it!!! now if they are nice....i got out of my way to make it right. but the MINUTE they get snappy. sorry lady....your getting a decaf, twice heated old milk latte!!! enjoy!!!

u know what i find really sickening...when ur makng say an iced white mocha and they ask for extra wm in a venti and u can see it all building up at the bottom,, *vomits*

That and a little refil snafu I had there a few days ago, basterds would not give me a free refil and I was only 5 minutes past the one hour limit! I wrote about it on here somewhere.
