I was in my Starbucks yesterday and the shift told me they will soon be releasing the 32 oz. cold cup. I hope Starbucks does not turn into McDonalds, if it hasn't already. Also, is it true Starbucks is raising their prices again?

I am drinking one right now, it is called the Trenta or Trenti size, 31 oz, rediculous looking and it is only available for iced tea and iced coffee.

They'll raise their prices and people will still go there because they're like crack addicts. I thought the venti size was ridiculous looking, I can't imagine a 30 oz one.

lol I'm surprised people can even drink the venti frappucinos. I'm always so disgusted whenever I see someone order a venti frappucino. if we got a TRENTI frappucino, that would be wicked gross

Haha, holy **** 31oz!! I'm gonna offer to give a customer a free drink if they can down two 31oz iced coffees in a minute...then tell them they can't use the restroom at the store.

I asked a barista if they will be expanding the 31oz. size to frapp's, mochas, etc... He said he will refuse to make one and called it stupid, that made me smile. Can you imagine a 31oz. frapp or mocha, even a hot chocolate! Yikes!

I think they are going to give the new size a try with the ice tea/coffee and if it sells they will probably expand it. You know someone will order a Venti CRF and ask for it in the new cup so they can get XWC and XXXXXXXCR!

Oh God, this thread makes me want to puke. I'm a big girl and I can only handle a Tall of anything besides unsweet black tea. I can just imagine these drinks that require two hands to carry, dripping with Frappucino nastiness (I refuse to drink those things), with an entire siphon of whipped cream piled on top.
I put in my 2-week notice today - looks like I got out not a moment too soon.

Also, trenta just means 30 in Italian, not 31 if I am not mistaken. Trenta uno is 31. Trentadue would be 32.

isn't the venti iced drink actually more than 20 oz anyway? they probably will call if the trenta if that's the case...

No, it's called Pretentiousness. We've had Europeans at the store who looked at the menu and said it made no sense. They would know. This is the Grinch's idea of becoming as pretentious as possible. See, pretentiousness brings elitists, who are typically wealthy and that's why we get lines out the door even in the middle of a GD recession. The wealthy are not at all affected by it.

Pretentious is a very good word for it. It's why we don't say SMALL/MEDIUM/LARGE. People ask all the time why we say tall for something that's a small, etc. I tell them it's stupid and i'm not responsible for it. I tell them everything we do is stupid lol.

@123 what exactly did you ask your SM? What wasn't going to happen? The size is real, I never said a frapp or mocha in that size was real. I said that if said barista was faced with that situation, he would refuse to make that drink in that size.

ehh, it may not be true...yet.
if enough people are dissatisfied with the venti, they *will* follow the other fast food restaurants' lead. i know people would always be like "uhh, i asked for the LARGE size." or "don't you have anything bigger?"
and let's face it, what honest american can pass up MORE WHIPPED CREAM?!
ugh. i hate whipped cream. i hate everything about it. i hate the taste, i hate the smell, i hate the fact that it's dairy. i hated making them, i hated those little rings that would fall out in the dishmachine. i hated the 8 pumps of classic per 16 oz. i could never make it as pretty as the pictures, and that made me hate it more.
sorry, got sidetracked. my ritalin is wearing off. lol.
