I'm just curious. Has anyone ever been in one? What was the attitude of the other employees and/or manager towards it? I'm not talking about relationships between baristas and shifts/managers, just the ones between baristas.

only 'dated' a shift as a barista. good times until it blows up, which it will. i definitely recommend though! =-)

just keep it professional at work and you'll be good, if your SM finds out though they can force you guys to transfer to different stores

as long as you guys are on the same work level [ex: you are both baristas] dating is okay.
it only becomes a problem with management when one has a higher authoritative level then the other.. because anything that happens can be twisted into them doing favors for each other or people saying [even if it isn't true] "oh their dating so she let's him get away with this.." or if you break up they don't want to deal with the drama and possibly "sexual harrassment" claims and so on.
but be cafeful. many partners are spiteful out of jealousy or whatever. and if they didn't like you to begin with, they will probably use the relationship issue against you and bring out all the red flags.
but i say **** them. do what you want. if you like someone [and you are both consenting the behavior of course] then go for it. haha.

you couldn't pay me enuf to date a co worker. Lol they're all soooo uggghhhh!

seriously. haha.
one other thing -- watch out for spiteful managers. if they don't like even one of you they could mess with your hours. example: give you an 8 hour close on saturday, while they give your significant other an 8 hour open the next morning. never scheduling you 2 together and/or scheduling you 2 at totally conflicting times.
yeah, they will do that.
last thing a manager wants to see is their baristas happy, when they miserable knowing they will never amount to anything more in life then a starbucks manager. lol. but true.

Here is my story:
WEEELLLL I was dating another Barista. They ended up getting promoted to shift to another store. Then I found out my Manager liked my boyfriend and fired me when she found out we were dating...Posted 3 years ago # -
Also, she yelled at me in front of customers while it was her day off from the other side of the counter.

I was just wondering. My friend works at a different store than mine (within the same town) and he just started dating a fellow barista. They are keeping in TOP SECRET and only his closest friends know about it... Now I know why exactly.

She is in her 30's and my boyfriend and I are 6 years apart and so are they in age. Some things were done between them unfortunately. Its a screwed up situation and just how she handled it was complete crap. She told me not to get the DM involved and then went and made up a story and got him to believe her so when my side of the story came out he didn't believe me. I ended up looking like the bad person when honestly I just wanted to go to work and do my job and leave.
