I've heard that where i live that our extra carmel is out of control. These people actually want it so you choke on carmel through the straw. we cut the tops off the carmel bottles just to make it pour easier. i poured half a bottle in a vanilla bean and the girl came back saying she asked for "XXXXXXCR" ugh. i've gotten to the point that i just get a new package from the back and pour it from there.
is it like that everwhere?
when someone writes "XCR" on the cup, in the custom box; i generally just put caramel around the cup unless otherwise specified. but i have had customers that just drink the caramel sauce by itself.
its gotten bad at my store, i now charge people extra caramel for each time they say "extra" and if people complain that its not enough i just add some more on the top or just say sorry we're out.
The extra caramel problem varies by location, urban areas seem to be where it is the biggest.
When people say extra caramel, I line the cup with drizzle and then drizzle heavily on top. More than that is just silly. If they want that much caramel, they should buy a bottle.
I go around the rim about 5 or 6 times and let it drip down. It looks pretty cool on iced drinks and people get their precious caramel.
It means you are squirting a ton of caramel into that drink!
Or when you are finished making their frap. and then they say oh I forgot to ask for extra caramel in the cup and they dont care that you already poured it un the cup whipped it and even put a lid on it. Then you have to put caramel in another cup spoon off the whip cream pour it into that cup then top it off again. ARGHHHH
ladysmoker got where i was going with this. that happens at least once a day. like i said if they dont choke they aren't happy! my favorite is the CRFL with sugar free carmel with extra whip and extra carmel. i hope thier teeth rot from all the sugar...
one time I had a cup that had "XXXXXXXXXXCR" written on it so I was like "oh jeez" and twisted the top off of the bottle and just dumped it on top.

Extra caramel at our store means 1/3 of the caramel bottle. If you think I'm joking then you are wrong. I'm dead serious.

It really is ridiculous. You might as well buy a pound of sugar and starting eating it by the spoonful. Same effect.
Agreed! It makes me sick to see their fish faces sucking on the straw because the carmel is that thick on the bottom of the cup. Really makes me feel ill and feel like Im crashing from my own sugar rush!
Is it just me or sometimes you get a small sense of guilt for giving away the monstrosity that is a venti extra caramel frappucino. Kinda like if you were selling drugs. Not small time stuff like weed, but stuff like heroin. LOL
lol yes very much so. there is crack or something in the carmel. I used to feel bad because of the fact that it's so expensive but when they same people keep coming back i don't care. we've got one lady who is a total drug addict but she blames it on her doctor's for putting her on medication, LIES, she gets her tall in a grande CRF with a shot on top. every time she is in she is sifting through her purse to pay for her drink. she would give us cards and it would be denied so we would just give her her drink but she was doing it EVERYDAY so we stopped making her drinks until she paid. she threw a hissy fit about it calling herself a loyal customer. ha. right, you're not helping me pay my bills so i could give a flying rats @$$. how about buying food for your seven kids fugly $lut

It is melted sugar, so to speak. People who get that much caramel in addition to the already high amounts of sugar in their drink are really stupid. Plus, I bet Starbucks adds all sorts of preservatives and lovely crap to the caramel to make it last longer. Thus making it even more unheathly. YIKES!
Whenever I see a parent buying their child a frappuccino, I want to lock the store and call child services. That $hit has more calories than an entire meal should have, about 90 grams of sugar for the large size (yup, that's right, I said large), high fructose corn syrup, and lots and lots of sodium. The large has more sugar than like four Snickers bars, and that's not including whipped cream! No wonder half our customer are morbidly obese. Like someone here once said, we are drug dealers for fatties!

I'm glad my mother never let me have sugary drinks when I was little. I used to hate it because I would go to my friends' houses and their parents would let me have milkshakes and things like that but my mom wouldn't even buy soda! I look back now on the kids who were constantly being treated with fast food and desserts and they're all enormous now.
you don't really know better when you're a kid. you don't know the consequences of eating and drinking fattening foods so you just enjoy the way they taste and you become addicted to it. then it carries over into adulthood and you have health problems!

I used to think I had the worst eating habits despite being a thin person, but now I KNOW that compared to our disgustomers I'm considered a healthy eater. How is it at all possible to ingest that stuff on a regular basis? How can anyone drink a large mocha frap with whipped cream and eat a sausage sandwich in one sitting? Truly disgusting. I guess they will pay for it in the future.
