I've showed up 3 minutes late and the ASM was already blowing up my phone to see where I was. If I remember correctly the policy was to call once you were 5 minutes late. I LOVE it when the SS is late because there is nothing you can do. It happened once at my old store where my shift arrived when we were supposed to open and we left the doors locked for 10 just so we can get one bar opened up and some coffee brewed.

really? my manager starts blowing up my phone 3 minutes before my shift even STARTS if I'm not there and it's not like I ever show up early for my shifts lol if I'm scheduled to come in at noon I walk through the door at 11:59. I will NOT be at starbucks longer than I absolutely need to be. I've never been late to work so I don't get why he has to bug the **** out.

Lol. Seriously- we can't even clock in early so what's the point. If it says 12-5 lol I'll be there at 12 hahah.

my SM motto is being on time is on the floor not in the door. she wrote someone one up for being there three minutes before her shift for a few months in a row. in regards to opening i had a shift be a half hour late. i had to call the SM because i didn't put his number in my phone. she wasn't a happy camper that i was calling her at 430 in the morning. she was the next one in at 7 and she was in the worst mood. she took it out on him. i loved it. hahaha

Once i had to open on a sat and i had tests and assignments all week long and i was only averaging 4-5 hrs of sleep a night and i set my alarm and everything but i just slept right through them. I was opening with a friend of mine(who didn't call me to inquire if i was coming or not, its not his job to, but if i was waiting for 15 min i would've called someone lol) and i woke up at 545 when i was supposed to be there at 530 and i just ran out the door, and it was in the winter and i didn't have time to let the car defrost so i went driving down the road with my head out the window (i only live like 5 min away at most). We were still able to open the store in 10 min and everything was fine

wow at my store on our schedule it says 430am but you're considered early if you're there before 440am which is when the shift and barista both usually arrive, i usually leave my house at 430am ha, its not usually a big deal.
the one time i was late for an open shift i woke up at 445am didnt get there till 5am which is when we opened and i was new so i was so confused as to why the shift didnt just start the open and was still in her car ( i didnt know there was a rule) and so we were screwed

Haha if the opener is late i don't care, i will go in and start opening by myself. If there were anyone lurking around trying to attack me from my car to the store, i would see them, we're in a strip mall type of area and there is just a straight sidewalk in front. Opening at our store on the weekends is 530, but during the week its 4! I'm so glad my school schedule prevents me from opening.

no way steam machine that is like the biggest no-no, going in by yourself!!!!!!!!

oh no the world it going to end! i went in by myself!!!! I'm not going to let my day start off on the wrong foot by rushing myself to open everything because someone decided to show up late, as long as the doors are locked behind me i don't care.

what scares me about that is not someone waiting outside while you walk from your car but someone waiting inside...just sayin...

yeaw thats kinda scary, if i was in that sit. i would call the mgr or whoever and just wait for the other person to get there. my life is worth more than $8/hr..sorry. lol

The shifts, ASM, SM always go into the store before the barista shows up. I hate waiting at the door for them to let me in because then I'm late clocking in. And I hate it when they leave the newspapers outside and make the baristas bring it in.
