Is it normal to only get a $.37 raise for taking a supervisor job? I didn't know how much the raise would be when they asked and am almost immediately regretting taking the job, it just seems like so much more stress for a measly 37 cents.

The normal raise is at the least a dollar in my district. one guy told me he was able to get a $2 raise mind you this was 2 years ago, but I imagine that it wouldn't have dropped that much.

I thought it was a dollar. but I guess all shifts start the same now, regardless of what they were making as a barista.

i started as a barista at $7.25.. 6 months later i got the shift job at my store and they gave me the starting shift pay which was $9.50! woop-di-doo! unless you already make more then a shift pay starts at (if you been there for years), then your pay increase will only be raised to match the starting shift pay. sucks.

I went from $9.18 to $10.25, so it was a pretty nice raise. Of course, the wage changes depending where you live.

The two districts I've worked at have been as follows:
Baristas start at 7.75 or 8,
Shift supervisors start at 10.5Posted 2 years ago # -
question: i was hired last june and i guess it's been 6 months, right...? Never heard of my report from the manager nor any mention of a raise. He's an irresponsible douc-he who takes advantage of people. What should I say

Just ask about your review, you should be getting it soon and you will get a raise, though not much.

In my district Baristas start at 8.50 and shifts start at an even 10. I'm not looking to make shift ever because of all the extra work- and you certainly shouldn't if it's only .37 cents. (That is unless you REALLY care about that resume... but really?)

well, it's too late I already took it about 3 or 4 weeks ago for resume purposes. And yeah, I miss being a barista.

As I understand it in our district there's not a set amount of raise you'll get. You start at the base for shift and get raises from there, even if you're pretty much at that. We have the pay scale on the wall ;-). A girl here just took a shift promo for more money to find out that she's getting paid exactly the same...
Here, both our baristas and our shifts cap out after so many raises.

just take the closing shifts and you dont have to worry about eco sure, coffee cadence, timers, doing the new better way bar B.S. etc because your SM wont be around to watch you as you run your shift. Hell i hardly follow any policy when i close, i do my thing and i'm done even before the 10 minute waiting period after we close. Although, ive made it abundantly clear to my SM that i could care less about anything, and if she tells me anything i use my passive aggressive nature to turn anything she says towards me around right back at her so she just stopped telling me anything at all, its great.

regular baristas start at 7.40, then 6 months later it's .30 cents more. i was just made a shift and i get 9.20 now. whoop.

mm. I just got promoted about a month ago and right before the promotion i was my 3 year review/raise. I went from 9.38 to 9.52 to 10.00. But in my ditrict shifts start at 10 no matter where they are. barista start at 8.10. but like everyone else said i think it depends on where you are.
