So i come to work yesterday and work all day. Five minutes before my shift is over my manager calls me to the back room to speak to me. Ive been working for starbucks for four years and i always change my availability every couple of months due to school and it was never a problem. In the 4 years i have been at my store we've had four different managers and this is the only manager that seems to have a problem with me. Everyone else who works at the store she has no problem with but with me getting a day off or changing my availability its a problem. I am available 30 hours a week and i request to work at least 20 but she always seems to give me 15 hours. Out of all of the barista's working at my store i am one of the longest that has been there everyone else is new and are not even trained properly and there is even one boy that all he does is stay on register the whole time hes working. so if anyone can please help me out and see if there is anything i can do to fight this because i really feel like this is unfair because i am a hard worker and all of my shift supervisors and customers love me...and this is not even mentioning that on my last review that was not even 5 months ago she gave me a 2.4 which is above expectations...so how is it possible that now she is letting me go??
fired for not having enough availability .

how can they fire you based on availability?
you must be available 1.5x your requested hours. being available 30 and working 20 is the 150% you need. not sure why thats a problem

i really have no idea...i really think its bs and she was just looking for an excuse to get rid of me because she does not like me....but her excuse i feel is not good enough...do you think i should call HR??

yes. worst they can say is there was nothing wrong with it, though i really don't see how they can justify that.
where i am, if they give a reason for firing, but it is flawed reasoning, they're in trouble. so most of the time they don't say.

yes...i think i am just going to call. Thank you so much.

Glad your calling, let us know how it goes.
If the only reason she gave you was availability that's BS.
Every partner needs to be available to work (if I recall correctly, at least 12 hours a week, though if you worked even 15 a week you would be totally fine). However, you want to work twenty, and you are available for enough. Caramelhell is right about scheduling. With optimal scheduling, you need to work 150% of your targeted hours, so if you want twenty and you are available thirty (it's not a guarantee) your SM should try to get you those twenty hours.
If you are being fired for not being available enough and you are able to work 150% of 12 hours a week then the firing is groundless. Clearly your SM just wants to get rid of you, probably you have been around too long and are the one partner who knows everything they are doing wrong, etc. They would rather deal with ignorant knew people who haven't been with the company as long.
Complain to HR, see if you can get your job back, but also see if you can move to another store when and if you DO get your job back. You don't want to be in the same store with that SM.

maybe its your sour attitude as to why you got fired? could be? if you are doing everything by the book, then your manager must/is also. you are just venting and not telling the whole story. can you tell us about your performance? your social interaction with management and staff? whats really going on?

You don't even know this person and you automatically assume they are leaving out key details?

@Just_Say_No: Yes, because I read what she wrote. Didn't you? Seems as if missy left out key details, hence my accusation[s] I don't need to know anyone - to question. I am using my language skills to reason. She said her "availability" was legit. They can't fire you if this is true, so it must be something else. Am I missing something? Please help me understand.

Well actually is its an at will employment state they can fire you for anything, but if their reason isn't okay the sm could be in trouble with the dm/hr if they decide to look into it. That's why smart sm's create a paper trail before they fire anyone. I know how this works.
