I have an idea. Let's start this'ere thread and keep it runnin' daily by posting what we're listening to at the moment. I FEEL THIS IS RELEVANT TO THE FORUMS BECAUSE OUR STORES' MUSIC LICKS DONKEY DONG ON A CONSISTENT BASIS.

I'm sure we've all ached, as partners, to gtfo of our stores and listen to something good on the way home/at home/so on.

I'm listening to Talib kweli w/Norah Jones-Soon the New Day.
As a white girl who enjoys hip hop music I will absolutely lose it in the course of a day with the music that plays..especially that Hawaiian **** that's been playing. The exceptions would be Feist, Death Cab, Wilco, and the Shins...all of which make my day because they come on so seldom. Our main seating area at my store is upstairs, so all the speakers are up there and I can't hear what's playing from behind the counter. I'm not complaining. I do appreciate the occasional Cure or Cocteau Twins song that comes up as I am checking the trashcans for the thousandth time, however, and I unabashedly dance and sing should "Lovecats" ever come on. I need to invest in a speaker for the back room so I can listen to some sweet licks while doing dishes....

Oh and Becca, I really liked the Pinback song! Definitely checking them out :]

we make fun of "gotta get back" at my store, it's excruciating

every time I leave work I have to put on some Lights Out Asia, Mono, Max Richter, anything else similarly strong and melancholy...to work I'll sing to some motown or old school r'n'b, anything with soul gets me feelin chill which gets me through the rushes

I made a copy of a friend's chanting music. It's always on in his home and essentially becomes "white noise", but it makes the house comforting and chilled and able to let go of the frappalattbit*hcinno dislikable ppl and place...ooohhhmmm!!! ooohhhmmm!!!

Britney's new CD. Full of house/pop glory!!!! How much fun would it be to dance the night away while making frappuccinos?! I worked in a mom'n'pop coffee shop once and they let us play whatever we wanted. People loved our energy at 5AM...and hearing, "It's Britney, ****?" while picking up their nonfat lattes:-)
