I work at a real coffee shop. I hate when people come in and ask for something starbucks has made up and given the name of a real coffee drink. Then the customer says "this doesn't taste like starbucks". It makes me want to scream at them "BECAUSE THIS ISN'T STARBUCKS! WE MAKE REAL COFFEE DRINKS!". I've never been to starbucks and officially hate the people they have working for them who decide what cool new name they are going to give the drink they've made up and aren't original enough to not name it after something that is already a drink but totally different.
I hate starbucks and the monsters they produce!

Let me guess... machiattos? Or skinny lattes?

Haha, atleast you hate it for legitimate reasons.
We don't name these awful things, we just make'em for fatties and get treated like dirt. It has been a long taunt of years since I've had a decent, non-Mastrena-butchered cappuccino.

I feel your pain...I really do. I rarely go to Starbucks outside of work; there are just too many excellent coffee shops where I live. I love ordering a macchiatto--they give me a nervous look and inquire hesitantly, "just espresso and a bit of milk, right?" I always get a chuckle out of it.
Don't worry, everyone on this site hates that customer Starbucks has created just as much as you do.

Why have you not been to Intelligentsia? They're in your backyard, right? Proper cappuccinos await you, my friend.

long before I worked at starbucks I worked at a local coffee shop (which was equally as terrible as working here but for different reasons) we constantly got people asking for CMs I just made them a caramel latte when they asked because I didn't know what was involved in a CM at the time, they usually just took it and liked it.
