I personally think one of the worst things is when customers try to outsmart you and flip a can when you realize.
For example, the other day a woman came in asking for a "tall double nonfat latte in a grande cup, but filled to the top with milk." Wait... what is that? That's a grande nonfat latte. Two shots, nonfat, filled to the top with milk. So, I rang it as a grande nonfat latte.
She paid, and looking at me all suspicious asked for her receipt. Read it and FLIPPED. "I ORDED A TALL. YOU CHARGED ME FOR A GRANDE." I said, as calm as possible because I like to make them squirm in the wake of my kindness, "Mam, a double tall latte in a grande cup filled to the rim is exactly the same as a grande latte. To ring "extra milk" I had to ring it as a grande, you're paying for milk at that point just like you would an extra shot." Still flipping saying I was just stealing 'pocket-change' from her. I asked her if she would like to speak to the manager in change, she said yes and laughed at me.
And my shift agreed with me and, in my opinion, answered the question to me kind of pissy. He listened to her, turned to me and just said "Uhhh, that's a grande. Charge her for a grande, why would you think that's a tall?" And walked off. She was ****
Any other experiences with you guys?
