Today was our first day being open after the remodel. They forgot:
- To give us an ice bin... yeah.
- To make sure the dam.n left register works properly. Then told us they couldn't fix it on Friday (UMMM...) so we were down a register until about 5pm today.
- To make the bathrooms look less ghetto and plastic smelling.
- To move the espresso machines so we can put the syrups in the middle and actually double bar using BRR properly.
- Replace the handwash sink that is completely corroded where the faucet is attached.
My DM, who was at the store all day today (D:), ensured us that they weren't finished yet and had about 5 more days of work to do (at night, after we close), so hopefully we'll be gettin that ice bin here sometime soon. Please, dear God, let it be truth. Until then, we've been using this cooler our DM gave us which drains on the side if you tip it over and takes up about 60-70% of the CBS.
But on the bright side, our store does look a lot modern and is much more open than it was before. We now have a sweet "bar seating" area but it's kind of awkward because it's right next to the bar and you can hear the entirety of everyone's conversations... and you can feel them watching you make stuff. I just keep telling myself it makes me look more impressive when we're busy.
*Edit: I forgot to mention that they left us with no area to put our blenders (we don't have countertop blenders, we have the ones that sit in the indention.. thingy) so we had to steal a countertop blender from a nearby store. Just one. And this is one of the hottest summers Richmond has had for this time of year. Yaaay.
