Lolo this is out of the (red white and) blue, but it's an honest inquiry. All things considered Stateside, I'm considering jumping ship and seeking a better existence in America's Hat. It's less about hatin' on the US and more about opportunity for a taste of not the good life, but .. something more than what's here.
A little backstory on that, despite the fact that I don't share too many personal details due to witchhunt paranoia, but after a hard fought few years, it came down to a choice between either sinking into massive debt and digging myself a financial grave or swallowing my samurai pride and moving back into my dad's house. It sucks to admit that. Blame aside, it's a pretty serious wound, considering I've basically supported myself since I was in my young teens, put myself through college, maintained my independence for years and even post-college fought tooth and nail and expunged all of my college debt except my student loans.. and after all of that to kind of, uh, lose the fight? And have to move back into my childhood home, and instead of paying rent to live on my own, I'm paying rent here. haha. oh god depressing
That tale of woe aside, I will put forth this question for those of you on the northern front: how is it, exactly? Pros, cons? How's it living there, is it affordable, what do the employment opportunities look like across the board? Taxes, how's that ole healthcare system work, so on so forth? The logistics of possibly transferring to a Canadian Bux and attaining citizenship and so on?
