So, I'm looking at my options. I'm in pretty good health. I haven't had insurance in about 2 years, and haven't really had any need to go to the doctor, besides when I got the flu that turned into sinusitis/bronchitis that I probably could have used antibiotics.
So I have 4 days, as you all know, to figure out what I'd like. I'm still not completely sure of what I am able to do with open enrollment. I've been with the company about 3 months, and I completed the HQ, and am given these options to sign up. So I imagine I am allowed to get insurance now. Anyways.
Trying to decide if I want/need insurance, and between the HMO/PPO. What do you guys have and how does it work for you?

If you can afford it get the most expensive one or kaiser if your in California, when you use it, it will be so worth it to have to deal with less deductible/co-pays.

I just signed up for mine actually. Same situation as you, haven't been to the doctor in a couple years, no real need to see one in the meantime. I signed up for the routine care plan. I think if you don't have any serious health issues and you've been considerably healthy just basic healthcare is ideal. Its cheaper and it still covers 100% of preventative care and a low copay on generic meds. Just think about what you need,

I've been looking at the routine care plan, the plus one. The thing that's hard for me is to commit to another $50 a month bill, even though it is for my health and that should be #1. Am I allowed to go to my manager and be like, hey, I can't afford my health insurance on the hours you give me?
