The only problem is keeping a tally, and figuring out past internets.
Also, we should only introduce a certain amount of internets to avoid inflation, which would make internets meaningless.

Hahahahahaha, yup. It seemed that these were the most common internets given. I can easily change the numbers if you like. People can keep tally if they like, I just thought it'd be fun to have a badge-type thing...even if we can't display it here. lol.

Man, all these great things, and we're stuck with bbpress :T phpbb and vbulletin have been doing laps around this forum system.
internets could be like a currency that is accrued at a certain rate. Every noob starts off with 50 internets and gains another once every month as long as they have 5 posts a month. That would make longtime forum regulars' internets more valuable to receive it from.
Hrm there's a lot of thought that needs to go into this internets system.

Hrm, that is a tough one. There's a lot more functionality with other forum systems, and yeah the recreation of accounts would be the biggest drawback.
PROS of phpbb / vbulletin / etc.:

If you click on their profile, there is a tab that says "Internets".
I can enable private messaging, avatars, image posting I'm not too keen about.

I understand. I've installed online bulletins for others before, and while I like WordPress as a CMS, BBPress is still too new to me. I'll try installing my own bbpress and playing around with its functionality first.

Private messaging would be sheer win, but image posting and avatars could still be doable so long as we have some terms that the admin can agree upons for like, standards and practices.
Keeping it nonoffensive, so to speak, such as no nudity, no grotesque violence, no incriminating stuff like unconsented pictures of coworkers.. a common sense sort of thing. If we can manage that (which I mean, we're all adults here, so we do know not to put goatses everywhere (though implied goatses are funnier (i was doing one of those with a trenta cup earlier today))) then I don't have to like, police around and edit/delete crap.
