I have an early morning shift tomorrow, which requires me to wake up at 5AM (4 hours from now) but I just have to vent about tonight.
I just closed a store... with a borrowed shift supervisor and another borrowed barista. The store was a complete wreck: no preclosing was done, and a closer inspection of the backline revealed that nothing ever gets cleaned.
Doors closed at 10PM sharp, we were supposed to leave at 10:30PM ...F-U-C-K! I can't even begin to describe how terrible the situation was. We cleaned what we could, made the best out of a bad situation... and even then it wouldn't be a functional store at open tomorrow. At the 11PM mark, the borrowed shift supervisor stressed that we just had to gtfo regardless of what condition we left the store in. With the many tasks left, we just winged it: a half-assed job with the lobby, washing the last of the dishes, and sticking everything onto a drying rack or into the big fridge. We ended up leaving past 11:30PM, an hour later.
I'm going to call my DM tomorrow morning and tell her exactly how bad it is at this store. Something has to be done about it.
