this has happened TWICE this week. guy comes in, chats up a barista, hangs out in eye line of the register and hangs out for three hours. my store is REALLY SMALL, so it is impossible not to notice people who hang around.
the kicker? it's been gay guys hitting on straight partners who aren't interested. at all. one even went so far as to write his number on a treat receipt and slip it back to the barista on register after he came up for his third refill.
so awkwaaaaaaaaaard.

I got my fair share of numbers...from dudes. In all my years working, I don't think I've ever had a woman flirt with me. Luckily a woman flirted with me outside of work...she's now my fiancee.
Lol, that's so funny, only women would flirt with me!! I am gay, and a couple times guys would totally hit on me, but women were the hugest offenders. I would flirt with people, ya know, for tips. I do it at work where I work now, the tips here alone pay the rent. But SBUX, women would take it too far. I remember this one Dominican lady came in, she was really pretty, so I complimented her and sais she kinda looked like Adrienne Bailon.
Omg. What did that start. She kept, like, trying to come back to the register while I was busy!
I get the: "Oh I love you're hair!" Or "YOu have a wonderful smile, it made my day!" People who repeat it over and over and its like...thanks...? Especially since they are too old to be cougars...
Oh and its REALLY awkward when the parents are flirting for the teenagers....

I take back what I previously said. When I was a waiter at an Italian restaurant, I used to get cheerleaders that would come in after games and flirt with me. Problem was, I was 20, and they couldn't have been a day over 13.

Also bookish, nerdy college students. I can always tell they're interested when they come back a little while after they order and look at the impulse fixtures. I KNOW they didn't come up here with the intent of buying a pack of gum, but something much more sinister....

Over the years I've actually gotten into the habit of wearing a ring so guys think I'm married. I don't know what it is about my looks, but I seriously have ALWAYS attracted guys in their 30-40s, usually the really creepy forward ones. And any of their advances just make me really uncomfortable. I know this seems extreme, but I'm sure anyone who has had any fair share of the creepy advances I have had put on me, you'll somewhat understand.
I know exactly what it is about my looks that attracts the creepy old men. It's my red hair. They tell me all the time. I feel like telling them, "Why don't you go harass one of my way hotter coworkers? They wear next nothing (I swear some of the girls at my store wear as little as they can get away with without getting sent home), go hit on THEM!

When I worked at a dance store, I used to get the 14 year old gay boys with their mothers trying to flirt with me, in front of said mom. It was really awkward.
I did give one regular my number, after EVERYONE in the store said he was flirting with me. And then it got really weird, and then someone overheard him talking about his boyfriend.
Oh well.
