1) I was on bar and read the sticker and it clearly said "grande nonfat no foam latte." So i proceeded to make the drink for a customer in cafe and she started to inspect that I was making her drink to her perfect little liking as if I'm dumb and can't read. So i scraped off 95% of the foam and she goes "you can leave some of the foam on there." So then i started to grab some of the foam from the pitcher and was putting it back on the cup and she yells " no no just leave it!" First of all don't yell at me like its my fault! You don't even KNOW what you want and your yelling at me! I'm making the drink as you ordered it! At this point I'm thinking to myself ok just smile and hand it out. If you want some foam on top thats a latte so don't try and add modefiers to be a little princess when you don't even need to you dumb *****.
2) When I first started working for Starbucks in 2009, I don't think I knew what i got myself into. This is by far the worst job dealing with nagging rude dumb ***holes. I've worked 10 years or retail and this has the most confrontation dealing with customers. This old hag came in and I was ringing cafe and she goes "I would like a iced grande decaf coffee. I go we don't make iced decaf coffee. She goes "O yes you do" with this thinks she is better than me and that I'm dumb look on her face. I will never forget this encounter because that was my first encounter with a ignorant customer. So instead of punching her glasses off her face, I grabbed my wonderful shift manager on duty (that handles dumb customers to a t) and told him what she said. He said he would handle it. What happened was a fellow employee of mine had taken her order before (and she is not a regular because I never seen her again, thank the lord)and had just made her an iced decaf americano without informing the lady that we don't actually brew iced decaf coffee. So thank you fellow co-worker!
3) I can be quite the sassy barista, but I know how to handle customers with being just the right amoung of sassy rudeness back to them so they realize that they are being rude to me and stop. I remember this one time this customer was complaining to me in cafe, that our coffee is too strong and she doesn't like the taste and I go "well there is a dunkin donunts down the street. Their coffee is weak." Don't get me wrong, I have great customer service to customers that are nice and respectful and regular customers I love. But as soon as you try and **** me off in any way, you are on the **** list and I will make sure other baristas know about how they treated me and from then on they will get decaf coffee. What people don't understand is that I'm sometimes in charge of making your coffee and for all they know I could be putting a foreign object in their drink, but they don't come to realize that, they just continue to be rude and ignorant.
