I am so sick of people claiming to have other drinks when I definitely did not hear them mention another drink. I almost always repeat orders back to people and make sure to write down all of the cups before ringing them up, and still this **** happens. I'm pretty sure that most people are just taking advantage of the "say yes" system and screwing us over, and making me to look like a fool in front of my coworkers. If I didn't ring you up for that drink, you don't get that drink. Get your **** back in line and stop trying to get away with this.

The same goes for people DEFINITELY ordering grandes and then claiming to having ordered ventis. They sure as hell definitely didn't complain about the price for that GRANDE mocha they ordered! Argh! This stuff alone makes me want to do unspeakable things to their drinks!

I tell them that I didn't ring them up for that other drink, and if they want it, they'll have to pay for it.

And for the people who claim they got ventis, they get decaf, sugar free syrups and whole milk. Because fu_ck you!

We have that happen at my store too, and of course, we just make them whatever super modified drink they say they ordered. We also have people who bring in their own cups and never pay for a first cup - they've ALWAYS got a refill. We don't adhere to the "same visit" to qualify for a refill - we're in an office building and allow people to get one drink in the morning and their free gold card refills all day long to their heart's content.

When people say anything of the sort, I ask the person on register "Hey, what did they order?" And then inform the customer that they only ordered whatever, and they must not have said the other order... I'd be happy to make it, but they'll have to pay the cashier first. And if they say they ordered a bigger size or any extras, I'll ask to see the receipt... if they didn't keep the receipt, again, I'll ask the person on register.

I hate size changers. We have a lady who always gets a grande, one day she said tall, I even double checked to make sure, once I hand the drink off I am met with a blank stare, followed by ” I wanted a grande”

At my store, we almost always send them back to the register to pay for the other drink.

If they wanted a bigger size, I'll just make it for them if they ask politely AND I'm feeling kind. If they're being a d0uche about it, I'll immediately send them straight to the register to pay up that extra 60 cents or whatever.

This little demon spawn came in and gave me a hard time about his PTL. I know he ordered a grande but he looked disdainfully at it and said 'Ummmmmmmmm, I ordered a venti' in this whiny voice. I wanted to throw it at him.

...and then there are the people who order a tall coffee, drink 1/4 of it and ask for a refill. (which they aren't charged for 98% of the time...until the meet the Walnut).

"But, I never get charged!"

There was a woman who literally came in today and drank half of her coffee. Then said "I was doing some work and it got cold too quickly. Could I get a refill?" 54 CENTS PLEASE!

@Lobbyslide - UUGGGHHHH I had sooo many of those at Princeton!! I hate to find characteristics annoying, but a whiny voice, an awkward appearance and lobsided attitude is never worn well by anybody!!!!

a few times i've ordered a venti iced coffee, paid for a venti iced coffee, but have gotten a grande. actually, this has happened more then a few times.

everytime i've been polite about it, but i always get treated like i'm lying!

a little ridiculous... it's to the point where i've gotten in the habit of just asking for a receipt because i want my butt covered when i have to ask for the size i ordered/paid for.

Lol, ^ that's why I usually just sigh and upgrade the size without asking questions if this one particular goofy kid is on the register. I just know he's all too likely to 1) get the order wrong and/or 2) mark the wrong cup size by accident.

I used to go into this one Starbucks near my office and get a Pike's. They were so used to making fancy drinks they sometimes forgot it. Once a cashier took the order, I paid, then she went directly on break. I assumed the order got passed along but nope, I'm standing there at the pass until the barista asked me what my drink was. He went and checked, and the new cashier was like, "I didn't have any Pike orders." He still gave it to me but I haven't been back.

I hate this. You'll even confirm it three times, they'll say yes three times but then for some reason when you hand it off, it's still wrong.

There's this b*tch woman who comes a lot who always asks for a certain size but it always turns out to be the wrong size. And we all know she does that on purpose. Or sometimes I'll be grabbing the cup before she pays and she'll see it and say "I said Venti not grande." When clearly she was patting the Grande sized cup from the display very rudely and annoying like when I asked her what size. She is so annoying.

Two girls did this to me today. I'm still relatively new, and a guy who gets really patronizing when I make minor mistakes was on bar (I was already annoyed with him because he slid to bar when I went on my ten and made some comments about preferring a clean work space. ****, I just got off my first rush, it was, like, my third time on bar, and I was TRYING to clean and restock but our SS got really annoyed I hadn't gone off yet and you said you'd finish up, so **** off) and asked if they had said venti. I had repeated grande back at them three times for both of their drinks and was waving around grande cups. Then the person on register rang them in and repeated "grande" again. So, no, pretty sure it was grande. He gave them the ventis anyway. I get the "say yes" policy, but he does this a lot where he comps things, or gives them at discounts for minor issues, and, again, I'm relatively new enough that I don't feel comfortable doing that at every minor instance, so I end up looking like the bad guy in comparison to him a lot.

Fortunately the person who rang them up was our SM, so she knew the truth of the situation. It annoys me enough that people do that, but what really gets to me is when I'm ringing and they pull that and it's just my word against theirs to my SM/SS. Apparently they don't realize (or, more likely, don't care) that the trade-off for their extra few ounces is that I look like I can't do my job. Seriously, what the **** did I ever do to you?
