Hello,
my name is Marina and I would really need your help about something. I got a task at my faculty to write an essay about Starbucks and one of the parts in the essay is "employee performance review". I was looking on the Internet but couldn't really find useful information on this topic so I decided to try here. Can you please tell me how does Starbucks evaluate its employees? What are the methods and do you get to see the results? What if you get bad results?
I am sorry if it's not the right topic for this forum, but, as I said, can't find anything useful on the Internet and this is my best shot.
Thank you in advance for your help.

The review is based on all the caveats of your "Success Profile" for whatever your position is. The Success Profile is sort of like a job description. You can score 1-4 on how well you do on these categories, and I can't remember what they were, but you can find success profiles for everybody in the store portal.
Um, if you come up short on anything, in theory, you and your Store Manager are supposed to devise an improvement plan to better your weak areas.
If you do really bad, I think it denies your raise - but I could be mistaken on that. Reviews are done every 6 months from start of hire.

they do... there are about 10 areas in which you are graded 1-4 ...
1= needs improvement
2= meets expectations
3=meets and often exceeds expectations
4= consistently exceeds expectations. 'your manager reviews your performance every 6 months and discusses your results with you in a 1 on 1 conversation...

They're supposed to do that. My SM just did and made no mention of it until I threatened to quit months later over something else.

I just got a pay raise, no performance evaluation yet that I've been told about.
