What happened to it?
That's the only milk I used to get before I stared working at starbucks
and then all of a sudden it was gone.
Do any of your stores still have it or is it gone everywhere?
Organic Milk?

We don't have organic either. The milk we get is RSBT free or something like that. Made from cows without hormones or something. LOL. Sounds weird but that is what they told us the reason was. But I did look at the gallons of milk and they do say hormone free or whatever.

The organic milk has been phased out for discontinuation because it wasn't a big seller and Sbux needed to cut its operating costs--as always!

It's all about money, not about what people want. Starbucks tells you want you want.

We have the little RTD cartons of Organic Horizon chocolate and vanilaa milk. But with the added flavor, I don't see how it's any longer organic? Hm..

LOL, my husband and I used to argue about the Organic Horizon milks. Is there a cow out there somewhere that gives chocolate milk? How organic is the cocoa in the organic milk? Same with vanilla (my husband would really love a vanilla milk cow).

Ah... good point. Do they put "organic chocolate" and "organic vanilla" in them?

Gives a whole new meaning to the kids' expression 'How now, brown cow.' HAH!

Actually, for the product to be considered organic, I believe that all the ingredients must be organic-derived.

Well, I know about "organic" food; I was just making a joke.
The definition of organic is "Food grown without pesticides;...has not been treated with preservatives, hormones, antibiotics, etc." BUT, this same website also says, "While striving to avoid the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, these practitioners [farmers] do not rule them out entirely. Instead, when absolutely necessary, some fertilizers and also herbicides are very selectively and sparingly used as a second line of defense. Nevertheless, these farmers, too, consider themselves to be organic farmers."
Blah, blah, blah. Basically, the product doesn't ALL have to be organic for the USDA to put their stamp of approval. Just maybe one little part of it.
So, the cows used in the Horizon milk haven't been fed any preservatives or hormones is all that means. It's just funnier to think of a vanilla cow out there running around happily in Starbucks' fields of joy, just like we all do. :]
