   Question to DT stores:

   Does your store have a limit to how many drinks can be ordered by one car? Is there a SBUX policy anywhere to handle this situation? Do you ask them to come inside or maybe ask them to call ahead to place an order? Do you do anything to enforce it?

   I feel like our store has had an influx of inconsiderate drive-thru customers who complain when we mention, as a courtesy to the customers behind you, to please call ahead or come inside! And then further complain when their six Iced 5-shot Venti No-Whip White Mochas or several heavily modified Frappuccinos or Carpool Van office orders take more than three minutes to complete!

   GRUMBLE, GRUMBLE!

   Thirty second window wait times and 50 transactions/half are impossible goals when you have idiots like these!!!

   your goal is 50?!! omg we just got a party because we got 43 and that was hell...anyway, yeah there's no rule againts how many drinks can be ordered, should be though.

   nope. no limit whatsoever. we had someone order 7 venti white hot chocolates. another time it was... gift cards? like 25 ones loaded individually or something like that. if the customer behind them is mad when they get up there, we tell them the person in front got a bunch of drinks. they understand, usually.

   I kind of view DT at the express line in the grocery store. If you're ordering a million different drinks with modifiers and gift cards and you have a recovery coupon from the last time you pulled these shenanigans in DT, then GET OUT OF THE DAMN CAR.

   Sheesh. So glad my store doesn't have DT.

   I WISH there was a limit on drinks. People seriously have no consideration. And it's even worse because they KNOW they're being pains in the a$$... because they do something like get to the window and order 10 50 dollar gift cards along with the 3 drinks they ordered at the speaker (yes, this happened, and thankfully they were all the same amount or it would've taken even longer) and then giggle and say, "I know, I know, I'm so annoying". And what I want to say is "Yes. You are. Please leave" but what I have to say is "Oh, no, it's no big deal" ... while I glare at them haha.
   We also get the people who come through and want light cream in their coffee. Then they get to the window and the amount of cream we put in isn't light enough so they ask us to remake it. We just had the discussion amongst ourselves today, after a woman did this... if you're that picky about your coffee, COME INSIDE!! There is another option besides the drive thru and your legs work!

   The only time we don't let people order at the drive is if they want a traveler. Those of you who have never worked a store with a drive thru, you'd be surprised at the amount of people who seem to think they can order a traveler through the window. I tell them they can pay at the window but then they will have to come inside to pick it up since it will take about 15 minutes. Do they think we just keep coffee on reserve because they are so dang special that we KNEW they were going to need a traveler that morning? At least half of them say, oh no I can't wait and just leave. Makes me wish we did have old coffee sitting on the side to pour into a traveler for those very special customers, lol

   slightly unrelated but i HATE it when people want pourovers through DT. Really? And get upset when we either say no come in or ask them to pull up.

   I wish there were a limit. I think three drinks in DT is pushing it, four is obnoxious, and anything beyond that should be punishable by scalding. And my GOD the people who add on gift cards... Yesterday a woman wanted ten gift cards, each loaded with different amounts and rung up separately with each receipt tucked into the envelope with its corresponding card. Fortunately it wasn't during a rush, but god. d a m n. Just haul your dumb butt out of the car and waddle into the store, would ya?

   We're one of the busiest stores in our state and one of the worst designed because our DT lane empties right onto a road that goes from the international airport and ends at downtown. So if we get backed up because some idiot is too lazy to come in to pick up their 7 Venti Frapps then our line ends up right on the highway. So I have absolutely no problem with telling a customer that they're going to have to come around if they have more than 4 drinks or some ridiculously stupid drink order.

    I don't understand as why would this $%^&* Starbucks would have a DT, since DT should be for quick access to stores, and I don't think Starbucks has any quick drinks other than coffee...very dumb idea...Thank God we don't have DT in our store... :)

    I think that big drink orders, like 12+ are really more rare that they don't see the sense in setting up a limit. My manager had however set up a transaction limit for our DT. Because we would have people who came through, got 4+ drinks, either cause they were all different people paying separately or just gold card members taking advantage.

    I think mostly because when people have multiple drinks from the same car that all take a while, that severely messed up our wait time.

    But anyways, a tip for this scenario, the way I always handled it is that when they order like 8+ drinks in a very ery very very drab voice I mention: ughhhhhhhhhhh well if you don't mind waiting longer for your drink.
    I also mention to the cars behind them that the car in front of them just got a large order and it's gonna take longer.

    70 percent of our business is done through the DT, mostly rich beeatches who are happy to join a long drivethru line, and then complain about the wait, even though had they bothered to come thru the cafe, there would have been no wait. Usually rhey are waiting because the woman in front of them placed a huge DT frappuccino order, or a zillion gift card order, or my favorite, 'I want four pounds of coffee beans ground, and could you mix them into eight half pound bags?" Another DT issue' the woman who waits in the DT in her Huge gas guzzler and then wants to be eco-friendly, and brings her own skanky cup "so not to hurt the environment." And why are annoying drivethru customers always women? I am a woman and I can't figure this out.

    Because most of the annoying customers, period, are women. Look around next time you're in a grocery store and there's a backed up line. Probably due to a woman complaining over .10. Someone rams you with a shopping cart because they're busy looking at their ipad instead of ...you know.... shopping? It's more than likely a woman.

    Same with most of the people cutting me off in traffic, or swerving while texting on their cell phones. And don't start giving me flack for this, because I'm constantly trying to defend women to my bf when he says things like this. I now just say "not all", since I'm not this way.

    Guys aren't gems either, but most of the time the women are worse.

    I had a woman order "2 of those boxes of coffee" at the DT once. I looked at my SM in disbelief...she understood and took over the order.

    She waited in her car while we brewed her "2 boxes of coffee" and then sat on the phone while pointing to the back seat when my SM and shift took them out to her. At least they had the common sense to make her get out of the car to open the back door for them. I would have told her to come inside to pick them up. Or at least come back by the window.

    WHO DOES THAT DURING MORNING RUSH WITH NO PHONE CALL BEFOREHAND

    KDH, the same person who thinks it is ok to be on the phone while pointing to the back seat...thats who. Starbucks corporate needs to set standards for its customers. Mcdonalds pays the same and has nicer customers.

    Today we had a customer in DT order 6 different breakfast sandwiches, 6 pastries, 4 fraps, 2 coffees and 3 lattes. Oh yeah, 1 CM and an oj. I made them pull up and park. Wtf.
