Today, I ordered a Venti Decaf Iced Coffee with SF Cinnamon Dolce. Does that meant that they did not put the classic syrup in?

If someone requests a syrup other than classic for iced coffees, the usual assumption is that it is used in substitution of the classic syrup. If you do want Classic AND SF Cinnamon Dolce, you may need to specify it when you order. Be aware however, that you may get charged an extra .50 for syrup as it is then considered an additional ingredient instead of a substitution.

Usually that means they replace the Classic syrup with whatever syrup you request. So, more than likely, no. It doesn't.
However, we don't brew a decaf ice coffee, so you probably got a Decaf, iced Americano.

Thanks! I actually ordered a venti decaf iced americano but they offered me a decaf iced coffee (this location makes a batch decaf after 3) because it comes with free refills. I didn't want the sugar in the classic syrup and wanted the SF CD instead. I think they gave it to me?

Starbucks has had decaf iced coffee for a while now, maybe your area/store is too low volume?

Some SB stores do offer decaf iced coffee. I wanna say it's made with decaf Espresso Roast but I'm not 100% sure. At the stores I've worked, if we are out of hot or iced coffee, we tell them about Americanos when they try to order their coffee, and we call them out as Americanos instead of a regular coffee.
And that sucks, adams12... I'm sure they would have promptly remade your drink if the mistake was caught while you were still in the store. I'd chalk this time up to human error, but next time you order there perhaps mention "SFCD without/instead of the CL syrup" just to be extra clear about it.

I've never seen anyone put classic AND another syrup in an iced coffee unless it's ordered as "an iced coffee with SFCD, sweetened" or "with sugar" or some other term and at my store we always make sure they know that the flavored syrups are already sweet and then people usually just want the flavored syrup without additional classic.

What makes you think they put in SFCD along with Classic syrup? That makes no sense - someone who wants sugar free usually doesn't want sugar also (of course there are exceptions). The SFCD is pretty sweet, I'm guessing that's all they put in.

@adams12: Hello and welcome to the I Hate Starbucks forum.
A decaf venti iced coffee, sweetened with sugar-free cinnamon dolce (SFCD) syrup, will only contain SFCD syrup. It will not have classic syrup, unless you request it in addition to your SFCD.

if you're concerned because it was incredibly sweet, it's probably because all the sugar free syrups are made with sucralose, which is like 600x sweeter than table sugar.

I would assume they just put in the sfcd. Anytime someone orders an iced vanilla coffee, or an iced coffee with toffeenut, I input it into the register as "no classic, sub toffeenut".
Next time you could always specify: "I'll have a grande iced coffee, no classic, sub sf dolce".When I first started on register, I would explain that "it comes pre sweetened, so did you want that instead of the usual sweetener or with it?" People would get so confused that I just shut up. I know what they want nine times out of ten. RARELY someone would say "heck yeah! I want it XXXXXXXXXsweet!"

whoa. we don't have decaf iced coffee either.

Seconding the "no decaf iced coffee." We make iced decaf americanos instead.

we have decaf iced coffee. we make one pitcher in the morning and that usually lasts all day (and should, for whatever unexpected reason, we run out, we just offer decaf iced americanos). the decaf iced coffee comes just like regular iced coffee, in those little silver pouch thingies. you brew it the same as regular iced coffee.

During peak summer days, my store makes 2 full decaf IC pitchers.
Our decaf iced coffee comes in 5oz green-labeled silver pouches. We brew 1/4 batch straight into the iced coffee/tea pitcher and fill the other half with ice afterward.
