Like seriously, would you go to friggin McDonalds and ask them for fries without telling them what size? "Yeah, I'd like to order fries."
Biggest pet peeve ever by far of mine.
If customers don't tell me the size of their beverage, I just stare at them until they realize or sometimes, if they still don't figure it out, I just say 'Aren't you gonna tell me what size you want?" It works to embarrassed them!!!
p.s. I never heard of Caramel Mochaccino Machiato Extra Hot Frappuccino, but sound sh*tty!!! Why on earth would someone get a hot frappuccino?
Or you could just punch them in for a Trenta and if they ask "WHY IS SO EXPENSIVE?" you tell them "Oh, you didn't tell me what size you wanted."
^ used to try it with venti because we don't have trenta here in our store, but then they get super mad like hell, "I never said Venti...why are you charging me for venti...where is your manager??? blah blah"
Ya too much yelling so I don't do it anymore!!! lol
Customer can only think of one thing at a time. Asking them to call out a size is asking for too much.
This is one of the incurable aspects of working at Starbucks. Stop fighting it, it'll only wear you down.

customer: no foam latte.
me: SORRY WHAT SIZE?????????
foreign customers! lol
me: what size?
customer: yes
...mixing their own CM?
...cutting their own sandwich?

My newest pet peeve is people who leave their straw wrappers on our hand off plane. If I see them do it, I always go, "Oh! Don't forget your trash!!!!" Then they shoot me a dirty glance.
One actually got all huffy and puffy and said, "Well, I don't see a trash can." So I said, "There's two right behind you, or there's two by the door," then smiled sweetly.
the one i hate is when they say "can i get a mocha Grande decaf latte".
like you said the McDonalds thing, you dont go up, hi, can i have a Coke Large. idk. annoys me greatly

I have many, many pet peeves (I hate the world in general basically) and that's one of them. The rare times I bar, I take out the straws we have and hide them so it looks like I don't have any. They look at my area like I'm lying to them when I say they have to get one at the table but it cuts down the straw mess they'd leave if I would have gave them one.
