It seems like every Starbucks has a regular group of customers who consistently group together in the same area of the store. What are some funny or crazy stories you have about regular groups of customers at your store?
For example, at my store there's this one group of 6 who come close to closing and take up the back corner and then laugh and laugh and keep obnoxiously laughing until they move outside when it's almost closing time. Then when I lock the door they just stare at me... O.O
When I was a customer, there was this annoying guy named Timmy, he was about 40. He and all his cronies would sit by the front entrance early in the am, and whistle to all the girls and say how nice/fat their butt or boobs were, etc. Then he comes in the store, typical guy you know, "gimme a GD refill free because I am Timmy and a d-bag". I hope something bad happened to that d-bag.
We have a large group who are all cousins and they all meet up and sit outside and drink tall coffees together like 4 times a day. They they always stare at the women who walk by and tease any partners who are doing something in the cafe. They're super good natured and ALWAYS tip no matter how many times they come back for coffee and if they never complain when they aren't given a refill price despite their many visits which is really refreshing.

We have a family that comes into my store every saturday afternoon. They have family game night and the father is super anoying. He puts his feet up on the table like he was at home. All the other customers become annoyed.
We have a recovering drug addict as one of our PM regulars. I used to be really suspicious of him, but he generally keeps to himself and buys about $50 of drinks for himself every night (yay sales), so I don't mind him. We've called the cops on other drug addicts before. No shooting up in our lobby!
We have quite a few blog writers who call our lobby their office. Some are doing it as a side hobby, some are doing it as their main gig. I don't really ask them about their blogs unless they tell me first, but I wish hits and ad clicks on the ones who tip and attacks from Anonymous on the ones that don't.
We also have a few Real Housewives who stop by in between dropping their kid off and whatever their next Real Housewifey thing is.
We have a rather large group of people come in our store daily whom we like to call the Breve Brothers. And as you can guess, they order nearly everything with breve and/or raspberry syrup. Actually, I'm fairly confident that have no idea what 'breve' means and think it's just fancy cafe lingo.
Anyway, the story gets slightly weirder because they're all fundamentalist Mormons who drive up from an FLDS ranch a few towns away. 'Breve Brother' essentially meaning that they're all incestually related because, uh well, they are. They get really pissy when they're charged for certain modifiers too. Bleh.

Oh yes, and they all look strikingly similar.
there's a group of fifteen that come in and order iced coffee. which sounds simple, but it's kind of annoying. each of them has some stupid set of modifiers like six splendas splash of soy light ice, which looks just like his friends two equals splash soy light ice.
we have to mark all the cups because the dummies haven't figured out which code looks like it'd be their drink (and we sometimes write names, but lately they've been sending in one runner and then trickle in through out the day with refills). it sucks, because i have to dedicate a whole two cubes of iced coffee to these guys.

we have the PD clan....the bank clan...college clans (big groups!)...the uppity hispanic clan (2xs a day)...a couple of others but I do not want to give away my location. All mentioned are fun to deal with and I don't mind most of them.
At my old store we didn't have a 'clan' per say, but all the regulars got to know each other very well and became like a little family. There were about 30 people who'd come in to sit for an extended period of time every day, and 50-60 who'd pop by once (some twice) a day. It was quite impressive to see this little community spring up within my old Starbucks. It even got to the point that they'd help each other out in the real world. For example, when "arlo the musician's" van broke down and he didn't think he'd make his gig in the next city, "steve the mechanic" fixed it for him that day for free, simply on the virtue of they bumped into each other. Or how "Kevin the photographer" photographed the wedding of one of my coworkers, the wedding of regulars Louis and Christine (they were a couple BEFORE the store opened), and did family photos for countless other families that frequented the store. Whenever a regular Mom brought her small kids in, the other regulars would help babysit so the Mom could have a break! It was a beautiful to watch. TOTALLY made up for my khunt of a SM and the couple of dooshy coworkers I had to deal with.
That is pretty much the only thing I miss about my old store.
wow OrangeBlossom's store sounds like my old store. i miss it and sometimes i go over there to hang out and visit my old coworkers. when i get a chance to work there all the regulars love to see me and i love seeing them. it's really great. and i get to work there a few times a week over the next few weeks which will be great.
