So, I've been with the Bux for maybe 2 1/2 months. Since I've started, the majority of my co-workers have all been majorly hating on one of the baristas because he "micro-manages." They don't think it's right because he only started a month before I did, so he doesn't have a whole lot of experience in the job, and because of this, they say it's not his place to tell the more seasoned partners how to do things. I'd always figured, it's not really hurting anyone, and he's been a manager at two other fast food places prior to his job here, so it's probably just a habit. And he does his job pretty well.
When he used to show up.
Lately he's just been blowing off his shifts. Half the time he doesn't even call in, and when he does, he fakes sick. And then after skipping two shifts in a row, he's walk in and act like he's the boss again.
It just bothers me because by not even bothering to get someone to cover his shift, he's letting everyone else down, and then he has the nerve to come in and tell me how to properly refill caramel bottles?
My SM is trying not to be too harsh on him, maybe because she knows everyone else IS, but he's done this six times in the past three weeks. It's getting on everyone's nerves, and we all want him fired.
Anyone been through something similar? Was there anything you did to make the situation better?
