Are we supposed to still wear our apron with the promotional refreshers shirt?

We were with the blonde roast shirts we got when that launched. Unless you're doin sampling I believe. At least according to my SM

Ok. I searched the portal and couldn't find any info.

We had our meeting today, and yes you are required to wear the shirts and aprons over them.

They sent me all XL or 2XL shirts. For a staff that's mostly 5'4" and under.

Guess I'm going to have to toss another shirt in the dryer for 5 hours again so I have something that doesn't fall off, but still can't be tucked into my pants.

@stranger: Don't worry, you'll grow into them.
Why give us T-shirts when we have to wear an apron? Did the concept of a COLLAR not occur to the idiots at corporate? Yes, a polo shirt or dress shirt is part of the required uniform, but HERE'S A T-SHIRT! Happy chafing!

My SM told us (people scheduled for sampling shifts) that we did NOT have to wear the apron on the floor. We divided the shirts first among the people scheduled for sampling, and then the partners working on free refresher day. I love the shirts, they're really 80s looking. I have a pact with a SS in my store, we're going to wear our hair in side ponytails with scrunchies on friday. Yeahhhhh.

the shirts are...ok... im a graphic design student and i dont care for them lol, but yes, my neck is going to hurt so badly! my crew and i plan on wearing a collared shirt under just to be safe, we've got to wear em from tuesday-sunday my dm told us. idk, maybe just our district

I don't like the idea of us having to wear aprons over our shirts. It makes our job look mediocre (if it wasn't there already). It takes the professionalism of the job away. The shirts alone would be nice... Then again if the shirt gets dirty, they definitely wouldn't want us working with visibly dirty shirts.
They'd flip ^_^

@ketchup: Wearing a polo shirt underneath helped for the mandatory blonde T-shirt days. But it's summer now and I won't suffer wearing 2 shirts.

I don't usually have problems with apron chafe...
try tying your apron tight around your waist and loosening the neck tie so that it's there but not really pulling. that works for me (and we're allowed to wear tees every wednesday and saturday)

Not big on the swoosh on the front, but, whatevs. I'm a licensed store in a hospital.... Technically a hospital employee who just happens to work in the Starbucks. (ie - We have to wear hairnets. ug) Our manager is having us wear the shirts and tuck the top half of our aprons down behind the lower half.

@dry sharpie already ahead of you man, cutting down my old collared shirt to just have my chest covered, not even have sleeves and use it to have a collar! lol

@ryuness, how much does that help? I'm concerned that using any kind of shrinking technique (wash/dry on high heat) might potentially melt the graphics but I definitely need to shrink mine :P

I tried shrinking both my partner shirt and refresher shirt. Boiled some water and soaked them then threw them in the dryer for 2 hours on the highest heat and the highest tumble and it did nothing. The graphics didn't melt on either but they didn't shrink. It's a p!ssoff because I hate wearing a L shirt that drapes over me. I feel stupid and it looks stupid and unprofessional. Why don't they just ask the people what they wear to order instead of auto shipping one small one medium and 15 XXL's. We aren't all fat Starbucks. Now your employees look like thugs with baggy t shirts.

I think wearing an apron over the shirt is stupid because then what the hell is the point of having printed anything on the front of it if you can't effing see it?
I would've preferred a cute little pin. >:|

I'm swimming in my shirt right now. Everyone else got their shirts yesterday so all that was left were larges. I might as well be wearing a dress -.-

I wore my shirt this morning, came home and hand washed it in anticipation of wearing it again tomorrow, and the water turned black. Make sure you wash this separately or with other black items. Maybe I got a bad shirt, but I just wanted to warn you folks. I used Woolite in cold water, btw.

I think one of our openers on Free Refresher Friday wants to try wearing the XXL as a shirtdress with shorts and a belt.

I'm kind of glad my SM isn't requiring us to wear a collar shirt under is. You know, seeing that it's as hot as the surface as the sun outside.
I got a size Small, which I'm glad about. But it hangs on my chest wonky, so it looks like I have linebacker sized shoulders and a massive uni-boob.

I got an XL and it's almost to my knees, ugh. I was the last person in my store to get one and it was either that or the XXL. I'm going crazy with the.fact that our aprons DON'T EFFIN MATCH THE SHIRTS AT ALL. They totally clash. It wasn't a very well thought-out design...

Haha last night when I was doing the promo, I opened the package of shirts and took a small before any of the smaller people in my store took them :D The shirt looks nice (better than the Blonde one), but the fact of wearing an apron over it sucks.
Posted 11 months ago # -
i haven't got mine yet. walked in today, everyone else is wearing them. i look like the out-of-touch moron who didn't get the memo.
Posted 11 months ago # -
We only got a couple shirts per store (all XL sizes I think) so pretty much only one person per shift is wearing one... and it looks like they just rolled out of bed in the shirt they slept in.
Posted 11 months ago # -
@Allison I'm going to try to do that with the XXL

I had to wear a button-front under mine, which looked and felt weird, but even despite snagging a medium (thinking 'well there are no smalls so this uh, MIGHT do, i mean it's not like five years of stupid free work t-shirts has taught me that anything starbucks has made above a small is made for sasquatch'), it was still too big.
Well, the button-front underneath was so that I could have a collar and bypass the apronchafe.

Squatches need shirts too!

It looks like toothpaste and it bugs me to no end that the top of the pink and green thingy doesn't end in a point.
