It would be easy if my shift manager wasn't such a clean freak if it was up to her she would make me clean everything even the pens we use lol I told my main manager that I hate preclosing and then I check my new schedule I only get two morning shifts lol when I saw it , I was like FML -____-

look at it this way: you could be closing. when you preclose you don't need to worry about dicktards who order 20 shot frappuccinos five minutes before close.

^That.
When I was a barista, my favourite shift was preclose. All I had to do was keep my head down and clean, and assist on bar when need be.
Remember: you get paid the same whether you be dealing with a rush of 20 drinks, or sweeping the floors.

I like preclosing. When it gets busy I can cower in the back and do dishes.

As a precloser who transitioned (not my choice) to closing, BE GLAD. YOU get to leave when your shift is over, mostly. Closers are trapped in the store until everything is done. Yes, there are no customers, but we have to clean everything and we can't leave until the shift says we can. I've managed to go a year without closing with my SM, thank Schultz.

Preclose is my favourite! Get to sleep in late, and bail exactly when I'm supposed to be off. I usually close so I still do my best to plow through closing tasks for the people who are stuck there, but there's significantly less panic attached to it.

We don't have a preclosing shift for some reason, but I've managed to get something like it... and it's the best! I have a lot of flexibility... to stay later if I need the hours, or leave early if I feel like it. And I'm a neat freak myself, so I am very much okay with spending the last few hours of my shift polishing the store.

I HATE preclosing so I'm with you on that 100%. But I'm the crazy who actually likes opening... I'm not a morning person but the thought of being stuck at work after 1 p.m. drives me out of my mind. I like when the first part of my shift passes by in a blur of "I haven't quite woken up yet and we need to get this store opened", then we have our rush and then I run everyone's breaks and do the deposit and by then it's almost time to leave. And yeah- I get away from doing most of the petty cleaning tasks...

^^ Yep. It's mostly a blur and then I'm out around 1. But I haven't opened in forever ;__;

I prefer going home 2 hours earlier than 2 hours later. If you do your work during preclosing, then you leave without any responsibilities burdening you.
