if i put my 2-week notice, how long would i have to wait to aply @ another sbux?

Hi! So, ive only been working for starbucks for about 4 months. But im thinking of leaving my town to move somewhere else.

This is actually a drastic decision.

I really enjoy working for the company, but i know Im not eligible for transferring stores because I havent been with the company for atleast 6 months?
What can I do, Id like to be able to work at a starbucks in the area that I am planning to move to?

I figured, if i put my two weeks notice in, I can apply for another starbucks in the new area that Im planning to live at? Does that work? Any suggestions?

IIRC the website only lets you apply every 6 months, so you will have to wait until then before you can do the app.

It may be worth contacting the stores and letting them know of the situation or chat with your SM if their a nice person. If you're a good worker without strike against you they may let you transfer anyway.

Talk to your SM. They could still transfer you to another store in the area you're moving to. I believe the 6 month policy is there because you haven't had your first review and if you're going to transfer, both SM's want to make sure you know what you're doing.

2. Don't quit or mention quitting until you are sure you are moving.

Some options:

1. You are allowed a one-time personal leave of absence for 30 days.
2. Transferring is more up to the discretion of the store managers that are involved, especially if you are in good standing, and especially if you have life kick you in the balls and you have to move.

Once your plans are pretty well formulated, I'd look at transferring. You'll be better off, and people are kinder than you may expect when life gets tough and you are honest with them, ONCE your plans are set. Don't talk to ANYONE about your situation and transferring before you know what you are going to do.

Proof? I'm a partner that has successfully transferred with conditions that should have denied me of such. My reason? My life was a living hell due to circumstances that I had no control over, and my store manager at the time was a kind and generous soul and helped me out... despite the fact that he was kind of a bully at times. It worked out, and I'm better off. :]

i had a situation just like ryuness.... not only was i allowed to transfer but my old Sm made it happen in less than a week. i will love that woman forever for what she did for me.
