Who the heck orders one and a half shots in a grande latte??
"Oh two makes it too bitter and one is not enough! By the way, no foam on that and it nonfat and extra hot"
You get one dead decaf shot and whole milk.

Haha I've had 1 and a 1/4 before, and someone also orders 2 and a 1/2 on a regular basis cos she obviously wants the extra espresso but can't stump up like 30p to pay for it :@.
My solution is normally the same as yours.
I have no idea what inspires these people, but as diners so infamously put it, "Why bother?"
Who orders 5 shots of decaf is what I want to know.
Plus other modifiers to hide the taste of all that espresso... why??
You don't even need to punish customers like this... they are doing enough damage on their own.
@Unsweetened - Right? Dude, someone at my store ordered a quad half decaf tall americano today without room. I just as confused. Our espresso tastes like **** for a variety of reasons. At least your customer bothered to hide the taste. (Then again, maybe said customer was hoping that the bar barista gave a **** enough to not give her dead, overcooked shots as they do for partners.)
We have a guy that *calls ahead* for a french press. When he gets in, he fills 1/2 of a grande cup with coffee and the other half with HEAVY CREAM. Dude, why.
^does he drink the entire french press that way??
Ew! Our store manager doesn't let us accept orders over the phone. >D
It's their money. Sure it sounds annoying, but they're getting less product with their drink. Just do it.
If they wanted less of that espresso taste, they should suck it up and order the venti. 2 shots in 20 ounces, not 2 in 16.
