I know I should watch what I say at work, but I'm still irritated by this lady today. It was 'partner appriciation day (hahah)' so I was waiting for another girl to show up..anyway, I was in the parking lot, off the clock, in street clothes, standing outside my car talking with my husband and another partner, and this **** complained that I said a curse word, and i should really watch what I say infront of her child! studpid idiot..she didnt even have to nerve to tell me; she went in the cafe to complain to management...which btw..i am..haha..like i give a **** if she complains...this company might dispose of me in a couple months anyway...annoying customer..stay in your house and hug your children so you can avoid being offended!
no cursing allowed!

Maybe she should just shut her trap and maybe talk to her kid about her views on cursing and not you, are you raising her? or is she? What a ****, I hate that ****. When I used to smoke I had a lady tell me I was setting a bad example for "her" kids. I don't think she knew what to do when I gave her a piece of my mind, telling her it was not my job to raise her **** kids and to speak to them about smoking, told her to have some accountability and take care of her own kids and maybe she should take to them about the downside of being overweight and driving a gas-guzzling suburban (she was fat soccer mom from the burbs.)

I really wish she had told me to my face..or better yet, my husband...cuz I am a little more patient and sympathetic because I am also a mom, but he doesnt stand for that ****! he probably would have called her a ****! I cant stand **** soccer moms from the burbs! of course there are exceptions, but for the most part they are all bitches! lol! sorry. my starbucks is adjacent to this salon and beauty store, so I get all sorts of annoying ladies.

It is so rude and classless to reproach someone for whatever reason because you're doing whatever in front of their kids. I hate **** soccer moms(get a real job-driving a minivan and picking up sweaty kids doesn't justify ****) and leave people alone! Judgemental cakefaces!
@Erasurefan1978-i actually had a blond **** ask me to put my cigarette because her kids were present. I just smiled and said"Kids, what your mommy is trying to say is that you shouldn't smoke, but she didn't know how to tell you" and walked away! How's that for a positive example?Posted 4 years ago # -
Amen, DRoast. That's tellin em!

@Darkroast: what an amazing comment. I bet those kids remember that for a long, long time.
I have a lot of respect for stay-at-home moms who parent passionately but don't become self-righteous crusaders, but I know what sort of soccer mom you mean. Frankly, it takes money to be able to stay home with your kids, so most of these women - bitches or not - have too much cash on hand. So where do they go? Starbucks. Ahhh.
I remember my mom worked as a waitress and then a florist in the 80s and 90s, before she and my stepdad started making enough $$$ for her to stay home with my little sisters. While she was working as a florist, a woman came into the store with her kids and made a massive scene. Right in the middle of the market, she started screaming at her eldest, a girl who was maybe 7 or 8, saying things like "YOU PIECE OF ****! YOU LITTLE ****!" Seriously. Everyone was too shocked to do anything, but they were all staring. My mom walks up to the woman, kneels down, and gives the little girl a hug. She says, "Sweetheart, you are beautiful and a wonderful person. Your mother loves you. Don't let what she's saying hurt you." Then she stands up and says to the mom, "Lady, you need therapy."
My mom came home and told us about it - she was so rattled, I think she cried - and her co-workers treated her like a hero for weeks. I was so proud. But I had no idea how amazing she was for doing that until I started working in the service industry myself. I can't believe how some people treat their kids, it's heartbreaking. One time a little girl asked her mom for a drink and her mom snapped, "No, you can't have anything." I turned to the kid and asked her if she wanted juice or water. She said juice, so I poured her a cup. The woman said, "I'm not paying for that," and I said, "I'm not asking you to." Not nearly as cool as MY mom ... but I'm trying to live up to the standard!

ohhh now that's sooo different from what my story was about... yeah, I am a very compassionate mother, and I dont speak to my children in that way...I meant I was just shooting the breeze with my husband and a coworker, and i let one slip - with out realizing my surroundings...Damn that took some ovaries for your mom to stand up to that lady! She sounds amazing!
Posted 4 years ago # -
She totally is. And I'm not implying that you are not compassionate - not at all. There's a massive difference between swearing in front of a child and swearing AT a child, and I don't think that swear words should be treated like no-nos. Kids hear that stuff all of the time, I know I did. I don't recall being mentally scarred by it. Now, verbally abusive moms, on the other hand ... even ones who don't swear... well.

oh i know!! lol ...I just wanted to be clear.. =)

your mom is cool coffee mart wench! wow i just wished i had enough courage to do something like that! i can't snap at people for some reason, idk i think that's why i kinda let customers sometimes step over me because i just don't want to deal with their crap so i try to get them out of my face as fast as possible!

I'm pretty bad when it comes to cussing but I can also contain myself...most of the time... A few months back while I was working on Drive Thru someone pulled the mats to clean the floor during our 3pm rush well right when a customer came up to the box and I turned on my head set to talk I fell flat on my **** and all I said was "****!" luckily he was cool about it. Other times when we get those teeny boppers in my store I don't care what I say because of all the harassment they give the baristas. I find it funny (referring to the first post) that she had the nerve to try to complain when you weren't even working especially standing outside the store! ANYONE could be outside cussing away...she needs to put some eat plugs in her childs ears or just keep them at home if she doesn't want them to have that kind of exposure.

sometimes i want to curse in the face of my idiot lazy **** coworkers that **** about the most mediocre **** and then dont actually get there **** done when i know i do... and my SM is the leader of the pack. one girl i work with you have to write her out a **** note of things to do otherwise she can't function, and even with the note she can't function. she's basicly a useless walking bag of emotions that can't stop talking about her **** boyfriend i kinda smiled a little when i heard they were fighting cause someone needs to take her down a peg or two. cunts. i hate cunts. **** this im quitting tomorrow its not worth it.
Posted 4 years ago # -
I curse like a hooker at the docks.
I live to decaf- You should totally quit! If you have the ability to where it wont bite you in the **** go for it. Think of the inner mental peace awaiting those brave enough to leave the shithole..

I curse like a **** sailor all the **** time, **** I can barely control myself at work, I usually mutter damn, ****, ****, **** sucks, damn fraps, damn vivanno's, damn customers, damn cunts, douchebags etc. under my breath a lot. If I said it out loud I would get in trouble, and if I didn't mutter it I would eventually just burst out and say it out loud. I curse way too much...

ive already got in applications other places, honestly it comes down to money i make a decent rate cause ive been there awhile. there are people with college degrees making less that work there. but that place makes me too **** negative and angry and then i come here and vent and waste my time on this ****... and outside of this blogoshpere and outside of starbucks im usually a happy go lucky kinda guy just take **** as it comes and quick to tell a joke. but after tonight im ready to choke someone.
Posted 4 years ago # -
Yeah Starbucks does that to the nicest most easy going people...
Funnily enough, this is the fifth job I have worked in the retail and food industry and there has never been any other that has driven me so crazy, none compare, the closest was working a Wendy's dt, that was a nightmare.
But I imagine a SBux dt would be much worse, I feel sorry for people who do that, sainthood is soon to come for them... that is if they manage to keep from going postal.
Posted 4 years ago # -
oh yea a dt is pure ****, especially in conservative hickville. i dont wake up angry looking to hate people, but alot of people here sure seem to. ive worked mostly clothing retail before this and sometimes that really got to you mostly cause im a logical straight forward low **** kinda guy, and having petty small brained illogical bitches come through tearing up your tshirt table is a nightmare... i learned loook but dont touch at an early age.... cunts shopping never did. some ones that come through bucks lookin for a caramel frap extra extra caramel but NO WHIP, same ones that have to touch every **** tshirt on the table... i need out of retail no matter the sector you just deal with morons. the worst part is having to serve them, in another world i would have ruled this world with an iron fist... first ones to go would have been the morons. then the good for nothings, and finally the heinous bitches. all hail glorious leader!

with every breathe in my lungs. kill em all and let god sort em out. if there isnt a god, then atleast they arent annoying you anymore. i'm being hyper-sarcastic. i dream of a stalin-eque regime with totalitarian control but really mostly in a pinky and the brain sort dreaming and scheming kind of way.

I was working once putting away stuff and i dropped a bottle on my foot and said "****" pretty loud and this lady looked and at me and I knew she was going to say something. When she was about to leave she said I shouldn't talk that way in front of her kids and any customers and blah blah blah I was like "Look I just dropped a bottle on my foot and it hurt, I'm sorry but sometimes I can't help it." She then went on ! and I lost it and said "yea **** whatever" . And she went to my manager and told me "stop **** cussing" hahahahahah her face was priceless. :) another happy customer!
Posted 4 years ago # -
some lady cursed me out cos the prices went up on her drink. and that's my fault..how..? lol.

People need to get over themselves-their kids hear worse on the playground. Besides, how many of these parents let their kids watch HBO and R-rated movies?
Posted 4 years ago # -
..it's pinky and the brain brain brain brain..
:)

Hahahaha! That's freakin great!

drmcstford-hahaha. Hilarious.
Ilivetodecaf- You must have been inspired by the bush/**** administration! I always thought **** was suspiciously brain-ish..and George...well...you know.
Posted 4 years ago # -
hahah inspired...no, disturbed... very much so. but yes i can see the similarities. evil mother ****. i jest, im not actually looking to ever have a totalitarian regime just play one on tv.
Posted 4 years ago # -
That would be a helluva show! As long as I can be cast head of the crooked police and take down some rebellious citizens and burn down some business establishments...not that I have any specific coffee places in mind..
TBH, I think Pinky is more articulate in his defense. I also think Brain is more subtle about his conquest to take over the world.
