Recently, someone ordered a chocolate croissant and a cranberry orange scone, I said we don't have those. "Even thought it's on your website?" Later that day I looked at the website and there they were! And a whole bunch of other pastries that that are supposedly in American Starbucks.
I'm guessing that it's different in certain regions? Does anyone here in the US have chocolate croissants??

Yeah, pastries seem to vary, even from stores relatively close to each other.
We have chocolate croissants, for instance (and they are delicious when heated up), but we do not have brownies.
We don't sell the chocolate croissants, apple fritters, mini chocolate donuts, or everything bagels because we're a small store and those things just don't sell. The only petites we sell are the cake pops. Other, busier stores around us have those things though.

We have only about a dozen of the items on that list, and a few things that aren't.
Does anyone get customers who order things that they wish were in the case but aren't?
Guy: Do you have cinnamon raisin bagels?
Me: No. We have plain, multigrain, and everything with cheese.
Guy: Do you have blueberry bagels?
Dunkin Donuts makes a killing off of cinnamon raisin bagels since Starbucks doesn't offer it.
My store does high volume in food (we go through like 4-5 loaves of lemon pound cake a DAY) and yet we don't even carry all the stuff on that menu. Chocolate croissants and cheese danishes? DO WANT XD
@freyafrapps your store manager is capable of buying in-season pastries and products if you politely request them. Mallorca sweet bread and mini donuts have been ordered at my store before, but they are rarely bought in the morning before the change-over. They end up being placed in the pastry bin and marked out at night.
I'm a shift and looking through our DPI order, those pastries aren't even available. It's probably a regional thing, at least that's my best guess.
One of the things we have that isn't on that list... cinnamon raisin bagels. We also have an asiago bagel... not an "everything with cheese" or whatever.
But I don't understand why we have bagels at all. We can't toast them, or slice them. Also, they're $3 each, and probably a day old, knowing how lazy my coworkers tend to be.
And yes, we have customers ordering things we don't have all the time. Sometimes they even get irate... because we don't have oatmeal cookies. My god.
@Unsweetened - That's weird. At the stores that I've been at that did not have a warming oven, they at least had a freakin' toaster when they carried bagels. o.0
@freyafrapps - You don't have cheese danishes, and you sell that many lemon loaves?! I find myself spouting, "Weird!" yet again! When I was in a high volume DT store, those were our two most popular items... especially when XXXCR CRFs abound.
Still can't understand why people POINT at the pastry case with three different types of bagel and say, 'bagel,' though. Customers must learn how order off of the damn signs.
We stopped carrying the Banana Chocolate Chip thingy a whilee ago, and this one lady comes through the drive through every dayyyy and asks if we have one no matter how much we tell her we dont carry it anymore!!
I get tired of people insisting that "the website" says we have this, or "the other store carries it" even though it is clearly not in the pastry case.
Why yes, I do have lowfat banana loaf. I just hide it in back for special people like you. It's on the secret menu.
Yep. We are a no warming store and we have three different bagels. And they all sell too!
It breaks my heart that we don't have zucchini walnut muffins. Sh#t sounds delicious.
Wow my store carries almost every single one of those things. And I consider us a smaller store.
that mallorca sweet bread looks freaking tasty. we sell a lot of banana walnut bread, lemon loaf and blueberry scones and muffins. i do like the everything bagel, it's really good extra toasted with butter :P

i shuffled into a barnes and noble starbucks today (because i'm now a fiend, even though the siren and myself called it quits) and A) not only was the barista wearing flannel, but she was angry and i liked that, but B) they had hella pastries that i've never seen before.
I went to a Barnes and Noble cafe the other day, too...S'mores Tart=heaven!
Discontinued the chocolate croissant up here in Bizarro USA.
We do have a lemon cranberry scone though.
our store notoriously randomly gets in marshmallow dream bars once every so often. there's a couple die-hard customers who always come in and buy them all up when we do have them.
Even if you're a shift (I am) your ordering list in IMS isn't complete. The SM has the power to delete items that they don't want to sell so they won't even show up on your list. I miss marshmallow dream bars.
Lemon pound cake is the most popular thing at our store. We FINALLY stopped getting the gingerbread loaves recently. I've never even heard of marshmallow dream bars, cranberry scones or mallorca?? lol idk
