i didn't realize how much more different life is in a store that:
-doesn't mark cups, uses stickers
-has a drive-thru (and uses headsets to communicate)
-has two ovens
-has a lobby the size of a restaurant
-has a totally different set of pastries (in hawaii we didn't have an 8 grain roll, chonga bagel, cream cheese danish, etc)
i got called into my new store (hey guys i'm alive!) a day early. what i thought was a barista shift ended up being a shift supervisor shift. things hit the fan real fast. i was so disoriented with just the layout of the store, and then on top of that with wearing a headset and having to listen to two sets of voices. and then on top of THAT our POS were wonky, so once i got the hang of sticking stickers onto cups, suddenly they were double, sometimes triple printing the same orders. everyone on the floor was obviously **** off, but i don't think any of them realized how awfully different their store was to what i'm used to.
anyway, it was a **** show. thirty cup queue in both DT and in the store and i didn't know what the **** to do. bad first impression, super nervous about today.
immediately after clocking out and walking out the door i burst into tears for thirty minutes. that's how stressed out i was!
