**** this job.I've recently just started working at Starbucks and it is dreadful i feel out of place and isolated here and never get any help. The co-workers are mostly polish and they are racist trying to mock and embarrass me in-front of me and the customers and also the manager treats me like a piece of sh1t for no apparent reason.Prior to this job i was working at GAME for 3 years and never had to deal with racist co-workers and a **** of a manager.I was wonder if anyone else experience anything similar to this at starbucks?

I've been working at Starbucks for a little over a month and I'm already seriously considering quitting. I'm no quitter. I've never been one to quit just because I'm not doing well. But this is changing my character, I swear.

Ah, Hamtramack, MI. Anyway if you're going to quit, you might as well stir the pot so that you may make things better for future people that work there. Call the conduct line, document stuff, call the EEOC or whatever federal agencies you can, report any violations to the health department, any workplace safety problems to OSHA. Make it rain regulatory hell on that motherfukcer.

Racism? Document it, lawyer up, and get some money out of the deal.

DO NOT QUIT.. not yet. Call your home phone with your cell phone (not your bluetooth earpiece)and get the answer machine. Make annoying gestures (hand up, palm towards them, then one finger up, repeating them, meaning hold on, wait one minute, hold on, etc.) at the racist co-workers so that their comments get recorded. When they say something, ask "What did you say!? That's a pretty stupid thing to say!" After you get that recorded, discuss it with the manager. GET YOUR COMPLAINT IN WRITING! If it keeps up, even one time after reporting it, even ONE TIME, contact EEOC in writing and THEN GET A LAWYER. It is only illegal to record someone's voice secretly. If you are on your own phone leaving yourself a message and they make those comments, it is visually evident that you are on the phone, and they can assume that someone or something is on the other end "listening." Randy is spot on.
In some states, the fact that SBUX has audio visual recording is enough to do it yourself. It's a single party consent.

That's ridiculous. If I was getting disrespected that way I would just quit on the spot. I hope you get it all figured out..Randy's suggestion is a pretty good idea.

Quitting on the spot is one thing, but scorching and salting the earth is a whole hilarious other thing that is rightfully deserved in this case. People like that should be sterilized as not to reproduce and curse future generations.
