I was working for sbux for 6 years. I always did my job and was ontime opening the store. I was a shift supervisor and all the baristas who worked with me loved me because I was fair and honest. Well a couple of months ago we got a new manager at our store who brought 2 of his favorite shift supervisors with him and starting taking all my hours and giving them 35 hours each week and I was only given 20. I found this very unfair so instead of lying down and taking it (totally not my nature) I bucked the system and would argue with the manager. Well yesterday because he didn't like me...I was fired! He told me he was going to give me my review and while I sat in the back and waited for him like he told me to do I heard him and one of his apparently very mental ill favorites laughing and having a wonderful time saying today's the day! Then he came back and told me I was seperated from the company. I am soooooo upset!

Call HR, call your DM, complain and go way over his head, you have nothing to lose since you have been let go, and you could possibly get him in heaps of trouble.

you need to call the DM, RM or whoever you can and if they don't want to know, tell them you are writing to your local newspaper and they will freak right out and do something about it. Honestly If there is one company terrified of bad press right now it's Sbux. Please please do it.....and post on the outcome!

Welcome to the new Starbucks regime, were if you speak your mind and express your frustration with the way Starbucks is trying to **** their employees without even a kiss, you get canned. They are looking for mindless robots to lead their teams blindly. Sorry buddy, but your better off for it. You can scream and **** all you want to HR but I'm sure nothing will happen. It will make you feel better for about five minutes, but the best therapy is to vent here. (Right RK you fat **** hows your district you ****. I hope your nights are sleepless and days are filled with insubordinates and your haunted by all the crap you have piled up in your Karmic Kloset.)

I agree. You may not get your job back (like you'd even want it?), but you could get 15 minutes of local fame by having your local news channel's whistle-blower calling up your store and reporting that "Starbucks corporate declined to comment on the situation" next Tuesday at 10pm.

Contact partner conflict center and the HR department. I had to when a simular situation (two weeks ago). Femal SM and her Pet are best friends. Made a formal complaint with PCC. SM and Pet are in-ka-hoots with the DM. I think the only reason I have not been fired is because I contacted PCC. I then would be able to say that it was retabution. Nothing has changed since I made a that complant to the company, other than having to have a conference with DM and SM. The SM lied to the DM about their relationship/friendship. The The only outcome was that I have started receiving as many as the other shifts. But Pet still gets the most out of all of the other barista's. But I'm still treated like a priah by the SM.

It means that we are employed voluntarily and we can seperate from the company at any time for any reason. However, the same goes for the employer as well. There are a number of exceptions, though: if you were fired for discriminatory reasons, etc; then if you can prove it (easy enough in Starbucksschmucks case) it counts as an illegal termination. I hope this makes sense! Check your state's labor code under "terminations".

Sorry my computer was down. Call atty re: discriminations. They're pretty precise. I triedit. Just not liking you or getting others to twist truth doesn't mean ****. I was warned by my DM that the new regional they transferred in didn't like me because I treated the store, partners and customers as though I owned the store. So much for taking ownership or having buyin. Good luck.
