Ok, a new day has dawned on IHateStarbucks.com.

| I currently work for Starbucks...and well...I hate my job. It is not that I need it, my parents take care of everything...I simply work their out of boredom while going to college as well. I think there should be a website called...ihatestarbuckscusomers.com because let me tell you that the bane of a Baristas existence is a double tall, extra hot, silky foam, 180 degree half caf, half skim half soy cappuccino...with no lid and a cup for the extra foam...it\'s true...it\'s true.
Let me word it this way, for most Baristas at leat the ones I work with the job is nothing more than a job. It isn\'t a passion and a great deal of us don\'t even drink coffee. I like the iced tea, and chais are that bad. But what I cannot comprehend is that certain customers seem to think that it is the high point of my day to make the beverage above or one exactly like it. Well, needless to say it\'s not. I read the posting about Starbucks not paying that great...true...and then they ask you to put this amount of drive and perfection in your job...and well...you laugh and you stick it to the man every chance you get.
One of the nastiest customers I have ever had the pleasure of serving (sarcasm) was a gentlemen who after recieving a few pennies from his change would toss it into the tip jar and say, \"put that in the retirement fund,\" and I can think is that my allowance from my parents every month is almost certainly more than this man\'s paycheck each month. That is what truly urks me about Starbucks...if we work their we are all stereotyped as they crazed coffee lovers sucking up to corporate in order to climb some psuedo ladder of espresso success. Uh...hardly. |

| I too made the egregious error of taking a position at Starbucks....I was told I was being hired as a Shift Supervisor and that I would be getting 40 hours per week...as was another guy who started the same week as me....after a week the manager admitted that there were no full time hours for either of us and that neither of us would be Shifts either. Basically I guess they tell you whatever you want to hear during the interview so you will take the job.... oh and by the way that location has had four managers in the past year. Countless partners have quit also. Hmmm.... I wonder why!
If this is the way they do business everywhere, then it is a highly unethical company.

| ooooohhhh jc,
first of all, you are an idiot. frappuccinos are artery clogging brain rotting garbage, no matter how you make them. you have clearly drank too many already and maybe your heart will stop beating or you'll get diabetes from all that fat and sugar. sbux can even turn green tea harmful/deadly by making it a frappuccino, although i think the term they use is "indulgent". stop drinking them...it will kill you! (see, i care!)
second, if you worked any slow shifts at sbux you would KNOW that no other combination of ANYTHING in the store can go into the blender and come out even remotely edible, EXCEPT that "powdered coffee crap" we use. plus, having put an actual latte in the blender with ice once, it is truly nothing like a frappuccino. it was so vile, lacking all the chemical stabilizers and such.
third, you are a gullible, trendy wanna-be, because you'll pay $3 to $5 for something that costs us less than 50 cents to make. while that doesn't excuse the guy from calling you a bad word to your FACE......you are wrong that we ALL don't care...at my store we are great to our customers and each other, but rude ones (like yourself?) make it harder. would you go to mcDs and say, oh gee, could you give me a burger, but use good quality beef instead of that over-processed kind? no, because they have what they have on the menu, and no way to accomodate unreasonable requests. same as sbux.
next time you're at sbux, ask for a CUP of water. take it home. brew some coffee, chuck it in your blender with some vanilla ice cream, pour it in the sbux cup, and walk around. nobody will know the difference, and you'll still look cool. |

| I don't really hate Starbucks, I just feel that they are a blight upon the earth. I'm addicted to International Delights Hazelnut Creamer (mmmmmmmmm) So I usually have a couple in the fridge at work. A couple of weeks ago I ran out and so for that week I went to Satbucks. Hazelnut Latte. How hard is that? 3 out of 5 days they forgot my order with me standing there waiting. And only once was I offered one of their free coupons. My boyfriend worked there for a few months in between school and he said it was the worst experience of his life. He actually got fired because he switched shifts with the managers pet monkey and the guy never showed up so they canned my boyfriend!!! Managers taking all the credit for others ideas, picking only certain people to do the crap jobs even when that person was busy, yelling at people in front of customers and calling them idiots for simple mistakes and most of the time the customer didn't even notice or care if they did. I could go on and on and on, but my blood pressure is high enough. But does anyone know why they feel they need two Starbucks right across the street from each other, or sometimes only 1 block apart??? Talk about overkill. They are more prolific than McD's!! |

| dear author,
you can be very happy that this website is going around. I mean i am in the elitest communication college in INDIA and guess what??? My prof from california showed be the page from ur website as an example that how companies go wrong.I am sure the site was not mentioned only in our college but all the leading management colleges wherever he teaches. He said in his area, its really uncool if you say that you had a coffee at starbucks. He was telling us what not to do in a business.....and starbucks was an example. So you have made a mark buddy.
I sincierly think that you should take down their logo or at least distort it a bit to avoid legal hassles, coz their use is protected. So if some day the company wants to get back at you they will use this way.
best wishes |

| I work at an independently owned coffee shop in Birmingham, Alabama called Lucy's Coffee and Tea. Lucy has been making cofee and tea in the same spot, under the same landlord, for TEN YEARS. We found out today that the landlord has leased the spot next to Lucy's to Starbucks (who already has TWO stores less than a mile away).
Wish us luck... |

| Damn people. I thought I had issues with Starbucks. Well I’ll try to keep this short (I think I could go on for too long). I live in Sacramento Ca. and just for the “fun” of it I did one of those location thingies from the SB website… you know I have like 15 locations w/I 5 miles and almost 500 in a 30 miles radius. Ever heard of over doing it? I have begun work as a Barista for SB (needing any job possible), and found that we are treated worse then high schools kids (no disrespect), and paid the same. And they say to be promoted (yah right), it would take 6 months of proving yourself!!! What the cr@p is that? Some of us have years worth of experience in management and/or costumer service, yet we are looked at like some form of humans created by the grinding machine from The Wall. We all look the same, talk the same and if we try to speak out… All hell breaks lose and firy coffee beans (brimstone) come hailing down on us. What happened to people being treated like individuals? And the teamwork idea??? Where’d that go? Damn if I weren’t in such a need of a job, I’d drop them yesterday. Anyhow that’s my first post . I hope I didn’t take too much time up. |

| Although I take favor to a particular drink at Starbucks, I see and understand what everyone has said, and I have enjoyed looking over this website. I'm not quite sure why but it's fun to see the other side. Oddly enough, I'm not offended by it in the least, people have opinions, so why can't others respect that? (I'm referring to the bashers of this website btw) |

| About 5 days ago I went into a local Starbucks and ordered a frap. Well the damn cup they gave me had a tear in the bottom. Needless to say I got in my car and drove down the street and low and behold I have crap all over me and my car. I went back to complain but the manager could give a left testical. So I called the corprate office. They sent me a $70 dollar gift card and paid $85 dollars to have my car detailed. I will take there money but they can shove there shity coffee up there ass. |

| I cannot say that I hate Starbucks coffee, I drink only plain black coffee and I have had it great and not great with them, I might add that I have drank coffee all around the world.
I can however say that I hate Starbucks for there uncaring attitude towards people in general, it seems that they are like most companies today , service is ok as long as it does not affect are bottom line
My story, is that I use to get a starbucks every morning , and around November of 2004 I noticed there cups would leak after about 15 minutes, that by Christmas they were dissolving completely, This happened about 5 times to me, but the two times I want to talk about is the time I got back in my car and the bottom of the cup just let loose and in my lap was some 5 million degree hot coffee, I have the scars to prove it!
The next time it happened the store clerk handed me the cup of coffee and it just felt like they poured hot coffee on my hand
I wrote starbucks and very politely asked if they could pay to have my car cleaned, as well as my cloths, no medical bills, had insurance(nice guy), they said sure just get it done and there will be not problem, I also explained that I had to go to china and it would be a few months before I got back, also no problem
I got back and sent the receipts in and they called and wanted the cup for there people to look at and would be sending a call pick up for it, than in the same conversation said we cannot pay the bill, but would send a gift card.
Did I mention that the second cup on my hand was 5 minutes after the first mishap and it was in front of a store clerk
This is why I HATE starbucks |

| I'll tell what's annoying in Starbucks these days - their Starbucks radio channel which constantly blares annoying crap from Alannis Morissette. She even announces in her nasaly voice that it is the Starbucks channel (talk about a sell out - not that I ever liked her anyway). Her announcement sort of sounds like Lisa Simpson (so imagine listening to that crap over a crappy cup of burnt coffee). And then topping off the whole experience with a whole wall of CD's for sale by crappy artists. |

| Hey -- great site! I work at Starbucks and I hate it too! I was always a fan of the coffee, to be honest, but the job SUCKS. The people are nazis about it and you have to go through all this BS just to get the damned minimum wage job. There's a Starbucks TEXT BOOK and a Starbucks CLASS you have to take just for that. And the CUSTOMERS, dear god I hate 75% of them with a passion. "IS THAT BREVE IN MY HALF-CAF DOUBLE TALL SUGAR FREE VANILLA LATTE?! I'LL JUST PAY FOR IT WITH A $100 BILL AND PISS YOU OFF!" |

| to mer: we keep it for an hour -- all that stupid beeping you hear all the time? that's the timers we have to constantly use... the sound stays in my dreams... uurrgh...
to cafeDNA: don't you think we hate the new machines, too? i feel like a monkey pushing buttons. and the whole steamwand issue is that the new automatic ones just come on full blast, there's no way to turn it on slowly. i always made awesome foam until the new machines came... now i can't make a cappuccino to save my life. don't blame it all on us -- we're just the corporate peons -- it's do you more good to write to star*ucks and let them know.
on a good note, i'm moving, and took some time off to pack. it's *such* bliss to not have to wake up at 4 am to deal with ignorant customers, not hear the timers going off, not to clean everything in sight only to have to do it again in ten minutes, to actually have a social life, and to *not* feel like a monkey. i haven't had to 'just say yes' for almost a week. it rocks! |

| A few years back, I worked at Peppis, sub shop next to a Starbucks. The enterprenurial spirit took hold of the employees at both stores and we began to exchange our free employee subs for their free employee mochas and frappes...right up until Starbucks corporate HQ sent them a letter telling them that doing so was a firing offense.
What a load of crap. If you don't want to give your employee's free product, then don't, nobody says you have to. But don't tell them what they can or can't do with product you've already given them, that's like telling employees that they can't spend their paychecks at certain stores.
The moral of the story is that the Starbucks in question (1717 Penn Avenue, Pittburgh PA, 15222) is now the only Starbucks around here to have gone out of business. Maybe insulting your employees and the neighbors generates siginificant ill will. |

| ...Now, they (Starbucks) are beginning to eliminate the human factor in the fine art of making espresso (not that any starbucks ever made fine espresso). Yes, you see more and more "SuperAutomatic" espresso machines. The Dumass' just push the button, and you'd think that they would learn how to froth the milk...Nope. How the Heck are you going to get a decent capuccino from that?
Any Cafe that learns how to pull a good shot, is going to be a sucess! |

| Their coffee does suck. I wonder how long they keep it. Anybody know? There is only one close by to me. It is in the "posh" end of where I live. This is the one time that I do not agree with the statement that "I got what I paid for". I paid up the wazoo. I was ten times happier with my own damn "Folgers".
There is a local chain up here in the northeast. Mary Lou's. If you live up here, go there. Coffee will be fun again. |

| I love this site. I worked at Bux for exactly 3 weeks. First of all, it was just a second job for me to earn some extra $. I have a full-time office job too. The real issue to me is that workers are paid the absolute minimum allowed by law... and expected to give 110%!! What in the heck are they thinking? Have they never heard "you get what you pay for?" The baristas have bad attitudes, and a high school mentality. I wish they'd get the hizzle out of Alaska, but it'll never happen. McDonalds pays more than Bux does, so why the high-and-mighty attitude? I'd rather live on strict budget than work another minute at Starbucks. |

| Hey guys. I work at starbucks. Honestly, its not such a bad job, but my manager has a habit of litterally stealing and cheating me out of tips. I'm trying to leave starbucks and get hired at a different coffee shop, but I want him fired first. Any ideas? any experiences? |

| please explain to me why you guys hate starbucks so much. everyone i work with really cares about the customers and the employees. you guys probably just hate the store because they fired you or something along that line. they have helped me raise money for organizations that i care for deeply. maybe you guys think that just because millions of people like the store you should be against it for that one reason. im sorry that you feel this way about starbucks, it's not a real loss that some of you don't go there anymore. high quality coffee and care for others must really not be your thing. that's sad. |
