| I also dislike the management at Starbucks. most of the people assistant managers and store managers have no idea what it is like to work at the highest time of day. They are either for some unknown reason doing "paperwork" in the office when it gets very busy or they simply don't schedule themselves for times of low labor. I think Starbucks management is the lowest scum on the face of the earth. They will most likely be in the inner most circle when they die. HAHAHAHAHAHA! |

| Starbucks buys three grades of coffee. The firsts go to the Starbucks shops. Here, they get cretins hooked on this 'great tasting' coffee. They actually start out with a nice quality bean, but proceed to over roast it and ruin it. Many in the industry refer to them as Starburned coffee or Charbucks...The seconds get packaged and sold as retail in Starbucks' shops--to people who actually want to try and recreate this 'great tasting' coffee at home. Now, the thirds. The thirds get packaged as Starbucks and are sold at Targets and Sam's Club and grocery stores all over the country (and world). These coffees are no better than Maxwell House--a blend of several different grades, from different countries--including both Robusta and Arabica beans. So, all you freaking Starbucks freaking followers... drink up, fools! |

| Starbucks moved into the Burger King on 85th Street in Kirkland, Washington. The building still smells of burning flesh. It is a 24 hour store and the police direct traffic in the parking lot.
I've tried starbucks, and do not understand why people continue to drink the mud they serve. |

| I used to work at starbx and have a lot of drama to get of my chest. I need closure people!! I was asked to find my own replacement for a shift while I was in the cemetery for an aunt's funeral! Are you serious!? Yes, and when I was angry, I was asked what the big deal was, it was just my aunt. Just my aunt. Only my favorite aunt. No damn biggie. So apparently to them, waiting on stupid rich people to bitch at me and demand that I put not 12 but 13 equals in their venti- 2 dark 5 white tuxedo skim with whip mocha, that was moe important than letting me say goodbye to my aunt. So I hung up and never went back and I worked there for a while. But whatever, I digress.
Also food for thought.
A gallon of milk in illinois costs 2.79-3.59 a gallon. why would you waste your money on a drink that costs that much (they say because the milk prices have gone up) when you could buy a gallon? There's no comparison. Greed is the word of the day here people. Greed. |

| I don't work at a full service starbucks, but the coffee shop I work at in a colledge serves starbucks. I have never heard so many rude people in my life. I'm sick of hearing people bitch about how they don't have enough foam in their latte. When I started working there I didn't know how to make a proper Latte and every time this one guy comes back he will make sure that someone other than me makes it because I added a little too much milk and not enough foam. If the other girl is on her break, I have to go and get her so that he can get his "precious" latte. One day our espresso machine went out of order and I heard things like "oh my god.. I can't even get a latte... or a mocha or anything? someone should be PUNCHED!" What's so great about starbucks coffee anyways? We're not allowed to stir them. There is WAY too much chocolate in the mochas and hot chocolates. One day a lady came in and she didn't watch me pour the milk in her hot chocolate so she complained that I must have made it with water and it was too weak. I told her to try stiring it and I had to make her another one. She stired that one and then it's "IT'S TOO STRONG.... I WANT MY MONEY BACK" ... some people are annoying. When we run out of coffee too.. no one realizes it takes like 2 seconds to make. If we run out and they want their coffee like now.. then ofcourse they have to have their money back. They can't wait like a minute to have a fresh cup. Starbucks is all a big hype. Sure it has some good drinks but I blame starbucks for the start of the bitchy coffee croud. |

| I do not know what to say. I used to go to Starbucks in 93 because it was cool during the grunge years, I never really liked Starbucks untill 99. I go 2-3 times a day. Why? Because the coffee is like a drug. I get cranky with out it. But I am almost fed up with Starbucks. Years ago. You could sit down and have peace an quiet. Now even if I go on My days off. Monday and Tuesday. Dam housewives are loud as puck! And I cannot believe Starbucks lets kids inside. Hello??? This is a place to get away from home. If I wanted to be around kids. I would drink coffe at ronald mcdonald playhouse!!! And cell phone users!!! I hate them. That is why i am going to buy an cell phone blocker!!! I tried other coffe houses to Have to hear dorks talk about how they are not trendy and they dont go to starbucks. And the Housewives and ten fold there. And artsy dorks who think they are cool because they go to college. ohhhhh boyyy. I think it sucks how Starbucks treats people. But Starbucks is like an starving artist. Almost everyone working there tells me. "I am going to school. or I am going to get a better job... Ya right. I go to Starbucks to people watch!!!!!Hello?? That is why people go!!!! |

| One progressive thing about McCharbucks that I think is kinda cool - part time employees are eligible for health benefits. Other than that, their coffee is way over roasted/over priced, and the lexicon required to order is lame/condescending/pretentious.
That said, power to 'em for taking all that money from a base of loyal customers, the type whom I usually prefer not to associate with. |

| Starbucks is the corporate coffee shop that builds right next door to 'Mom and Pop' shop that’s been in that location for 15 years. Starbucks clientele are the lowest of low-life, nasty/fat neo-conservative soccer moms and the young stereotypical yuppies. No wonder their employees hate the job. Starbucks needs to dissolve into a messy bankruptcy that will maim their name for life and detour any copycats from capitalizing something that should remain neighborhood based. Starbucks is the symbol of just how capitalism has turned out to be a masked fascism.
Thank you. |

| As a current Starbucks Store Manager, I can totally understand why many people dislike Starbucks, let me tell you though, it's the customers decision and no one forces them to come to Starbucks. On a different note, fellow Baristas, and anyone else who reads this...What would it be like if we came into your place of employment, and was demaning, often times rude to the bone, had our cell phone stuck to our ears, then order your drink...you pick up your drink and tell the Bar person, Oh, I ordered Decaf?? How the heck can you remember what you ordered when you have a damn cell phone stuck to your damn head??? then y ou blame us (the employees) for messing up your order...Just remember this the next time...I'll come to your place and make a scene too!!! |

| Seriously, it's realy easy to hate Starbucks and no doubt I hate Starbucks as much as anyone, unfortunately it's both the worst of all coffee houses and the best we have. I'm sorry but those pretentious indie-coffee houses w/their you know black and white pictures of half naked people on the wall... can I take that seriously? And the staff there... laugh out loud funny. Give me some impersonal corporate nonsense over that anyday with those cheesy promotional CDs and silver starbucks cups sitting in display cases... it's called being a store, it's called multinational capitalism, and it doesn't pretend to be anything else.
Also take it I live in LA, so it's all garbage anyways, with all the vegans (yes, that's some serious politics for you! eating meat is the most important political issue of our time) and hollywood wannabe scriptwriters (no comment), especially with the pseudo intellectuals at the indie coffe houses studying and thinking "grand thoughts" (the philistine morons in my phd program). Oh okay, "fair trade coffee?" Have people heard about this? There's some yuppie capitalist guilt. "Fair trade"??!!!!??? |

| I have been working in a Barnes&Noble Starbucks for about 2 years now and nothing about the company is even remotely concerned with customers.
One POT of coffee costs 76 cents, and they force us to upsell everyone to the $1.80 Venti size.
They have a script for us to recite for each customer. This is a bit worse than most Starbucks, for we must also sell crap for Barnes & Noble.
Question 1: Would you like to make that a ___ size for only ___ more?
Question 2: Would you like anything to eat with that?
2a: If yes, is that for here or to go?
Question 3: Will you be using your Barnes & Noble membership to save 10%?
3a: Do you know about the membership program?
This is the minimum amount we must do. However, here is a more typical transaction.
Customer: I'd like a small coffee.
Clerk: Would you like to make that a Grande for 20 cents more?
Customer: A what?
Clerk: (sigh) Medium.
Customer: Oh. No, I'm all set.
Clerk: Would you like anything to eat today?
Customer: Ummm... (Long pause while they look at the case) No.
Clerk: Will you be using your Barnes & Noble membership and get a 10% discount?
Customer: What? Uh... no.
Clerk: Do you know about our membership program?
Customer: I'm all set, thanks.
(If customer has books)
Clerk: Would you like us to ring up those books for you?
Customer: No thanks, I'm just going to read them here.
All that for a small coffee. I don't know about anyone else, but I find that just a bit excessive, don't you? We have to push not only Starbucks crappy products, but also Barnes & Noble products.
But I know why. And you should ALL know this.
Starbucks, like many businesses and franchises, have created a very abstract way of making money. They spend so much on advertising and promotions that they are literally in more and more debt every year. However, they can boast incredible sales BECAUSE of the advertising and marketing that they dump their money into. So they simultaneously make ludicrous amounts of money while never paying off their debt. Of course, this means if they DON'T make ludicrous amounts of money, the company dies like a choking dog.
I find that very interesting, and dream of exploiting that weakness for the good of the world.
One last thing:
For all my comrades in harm out there working at Starbucks, don't let them grind you down. Don't let them silence you, or methodically pull out your soul piece by piece. You are still a human being, and make sure they know it! |

| The people at Starbucks have some crazy idea that mass production at quick speeds can somehow result in high quality. Its freaking impossible. And how come they cant have good espresso beans. Why is it impossible to not have sweet espresso. Why must the bitter espresso be the money maker. I am a coffee slave at starbucks myself and it is insane how many pastries we get. Literally we get 200 +pastreis a day. And these arent the homecooked cookies and muffins here. This are pastries with scrolls for ingredient lists. And how the heck is it attractive to cram 80 pasteries behind a glass window. ITS NOT!!! TEchinally, starbucks has good coffee. This being that we don't resteam milk below a certain temperature, the machines are always being clean, yadda yadda yadda. OK THIS DOESNT FREAKIN HELP AT ALL!! How I am supposed to make a tasty drink when I'm steaming 2 pitchers of milk, making 4 drinks, and have 3 different tasks being proposed (YELLED) at me. How can i steam good cappucino foam when I have to make 3 venti mocha frappucinos at the same time. (literally) If only the customers could see us make the drinks they wouldn't want them anymore. The espresso sucks anyways. I feel sorry for every employee out there. I say we just all quit. I wonder if the customers would be able to survive.
Why the hell does there need to be music cds and burning systems in a freaking coffee shop anyways. Half of the drinks arent even coffee anyways. Chantico, blended cremes. People think because they order a venti white mocha that they are drinking coffee. Let me tell you you are drinking 2 oz. espresso and 22 oz. Milk and syrup. Theres more syrup then coffee. The only thing good at starbucks is the tea and they never even advertise it. |

| I have an idea to encourage some change at Starbucks. Direct action! Go to your favorite local coffee shop, purchase at least a mug (or even a t-shirt) with the shop's name and logo. Visit the public library, check out a rather thick novel. Then go to Starbucks, order a "LARGE" something or another, then read for an hour or two while you proudly display your coffee shop's mug/t-shirt/business card. If the drones at Starbucks try to kick you out, loudly state that you are a paying customer and make a huge scene. Better yet, have a couple of friends with you... maybe you can get Starbucks some bad publicity on the evening news. Good luck. |

| I can't say that I dislaike Starbucks as som people tha have posted her. I used ot go all the time. Then I realized I was throwing away my money. I cannot beleive that the population at large is willing to pay four dollars for the same thing (or better) they would get a local store for two. I truely want o be supportive of the lcoal stores, keeping the dolalrs local. Another thing is that the bad employee practices, such as bad terminations or horrible customer service is not limted to Starbucks. This is just my personal opinion: if you don't have something negative to say that is strictly Starbucks-oriented, then don't post it here. After all tha tis what this website is all about about...dislike of Starbucks, not management in general.
I do share the same feelings as Bill P when they try to correct you. to tell you the truth, I wasn't much a coffee drinker until I started to actually pay attention in college. Until then, I didn't know what a latte was. Coffee. Cafe con leche for those Spanish speakers. It's just coffee and milk. Right? |

I personally like the coffee but its just an opinion. People are right they do charge too much and the people are so fake its funny. I just wanted to tell you guys to keep it up and stand your ground. I love opinionated people. Its what makes the world go round. |

| hi, cool site,i work for starbucks, purely for the free coffee and the ok wage, ive just been to the star bucks experince class and i found it ummm well horrible as it goes. 6 hours of writing about coffee, describing coffee and tasting coffee, we done this coffee tasteing thing with the starbucks blend and supermarket blend and to be honest the supermarket blend was beter, it had more flavour, aroma, colour and was just a better coffee in general. did you know starbucks made roughly £4 billion profit last year, thats profit yeh, just to stick in there bank and drool over occasionally, to me thats just greedy. and also there opening 2.5 stores a day!! there aim is to have a starbuks 5 minutes from each home in the world, starting with america and europe. thats just bad busines practice, theres gona be so much competition store to store that there gonna crumble (hopefuly). oh this made me laugh, each employee has the responsibility of making starbucks the 3rd place to everyone who visits it. that is the 1st place is home, 2nd is work and 3rd is starbucks, yeh right, lets see, local pub? or starbucks, k i know my 3rd place, do you? do not be fooled poeple, starbucks are a profit company, they couldnt care less about the little poeple who make the world run, as long as they spend £1.79 for a tall latte, they couldnt care less. support your local coffee house, not starbucks. ooh intersting fact, they could afford to shut down every one of there stores for 8 months and still keep up the profits, thats just wrong |

| Starbucks is all about the dollar? Well, what did you think they were about... charity work and good deeds? Of course they're about making money - they're a profit-making company who will try to take every penny from you they can - that's their job. And they're turning our streets into ubiquitous identity-free wastegrounds of identical stores? If people wanted individuality and interest and change so much, Starbucks wouldn't be able to have fifteen coffee houses every five blocks... neither would The Gap, Banana Republic, Duane Reade, etc. Let's face it folks - companies are in business to make money, and people prefer their regular overpriced bland-tasting coffee to taking the chance on a coffee shop that might give them something better or worse. It's not down to Starbucks, it's just the way of the world. |

| my favorite parts of working at starbucks:
*done to the tune of "my favorite things" from the sound of music* -- hope you enjoy. :)
people on cell phones with grande soy lattes
nonfat venti drinks (extra whip) for the fattes
"coffee snobs" who don't know what they're ordering...
these are a few of my favorite things.
make mine more sweet!
is that my drink?
i don't know what i got...
i simply remember my favorite things,
and then i don't feel so hot.
people late for work who stop in in the morning
i have a huge line, they're still pissing and moaning
i spilled my drink, can you make me one new?
these are just some of the things that they do...
i don't want whip!
oh, that's not mine?
i'll take it anyway. too bad...
i simply remember my favorite things
and then i get really mad.
stupid, rude people who can't return a greeting
howard makes me smile, it's not what i'm feeling
i don't get paid much for the work that i do
get up at four and then come deal with you!
when the safe beeps!
i get no breaks.
ain't my green apron rad?
i simply remember my favorite things...
gee, my job makes me soooooooooo glad! |

| Hey. I'm glad the website is working again. Now I can spew after work every day about all the stupid customers. I oppose Starbucks on a philosophical basis. How hedonistic can that place be. I mean its so indvidualistic and does not promote a sense of community at all. Nobody hardly ever talks, some people even refuse to share their table. I find it so disturbing that I want to cry! |
