Ok, a new day has dawned on IHateStarbucks.com.

shut up MADellen...in case you hadn't noticed, this is ihatestarbucks.com not oh-my-gosh-i-just-love-my-bullcrap-job.com. this is where we come to vent our frustrations, and if you don't like the fact that we "bitch" too much, then why the hell are you here? You can't deal with it, then just piss off.

Starbucks is run by an overwhelming amount of young children who have no idea what they are doing.

To blabber loves *$ =:^): Thank you for sharing that you've only encountered truly nice and polite partners when frequenting your northern CA Starbucks retailers. I have visited many Starbucks retail stores here in the state of Michigan and it's nice to receive great customer service on each visit over these past three or four years. ;) The most northern Starbucks location is a newly opened store in the Birch Run area, about 80 miles north of Detroit and it's such a great store with a drive-thru. I am only able to get to it on the weekends, but the partners are doing a great job and the espresso drinks are fantastic! Take it easy, Blabber!

To Scott: Your life as a Starbucks customer ended two years ago because you were overwhelmed with balloons and a enthusiastic Starbucks employee? You should've found the nearest bridge (possibly the Golden Gate?) and ended your whiny life.

My life as a Starbucks customer ended about two years ago when I walked in the door at the Pico/Robertson store in Los Angeles and was overwhelmed by a ceiling of baloons and streamers that hit me in the face. I stood 15 feet away from the front counter(no line at the time), looked at the whirl of party regalia around me and tried to make sense of it all. Through the dangling black and white streamers hanging from green baloons, I stared at the 22-year-old frizzy haired barista girl who donned a paper party cone hat. She just stood there with a stupid smile on her face. Intrigued, I asked, "What's goin' on?" She was quick to answer. With an exuberant eye-popping smile backed with teeming enthusiasm she said, "It's Frappucino's birthday!!!" Boy was I bummed out when she said that. Still standing some 15 feet away from the front counter, she tried to smile me over. In response to her warm and openly friendly gesture, I pivoted on my left foot and walked right out the door. The tragic part was that I had come there for a Frappucino. But that was to be no more. Adieu.

I've been a minion to the siren for little over two months and I am SO glad to have found this site. There are no words. It's worth applying for a job at SB just to see this s**t for yourself. Man--talk about brainwashing. The vernacular alone is enough to make you want to gouge your eyes out--the worst part is, my podperson of a manager expects me to USE it on a daily basis. UGH. ..... Excerpt from my Core Learning Journey Guide (p. 99 of 232 page workbook), completed at the end of the mandatory workshop. "Completing Starbucks Experience" Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Time Sensitive Write a S.M.A.R.T. goal regarding how you apply what you have learned today when you return to your store. * wear tinfoil hat to work (IMPORTANT!!!) * build a time machine to retrieve past five hours * why god why * invest in family-size tube of KY to facilitate daily corporate @ssrape (see diagram) * Values Schlep -----> Values Walk -----> Values Strut ..... Well, at least I entertained the people sitting on either side of me. Maybe at the end of All This, I'll get my Learning Guide published and avenge all the pissed-off Baristas of the world.

Fighting amoungst ourselves will not help our fight against starbucks. Remember we have a common enemy - lets b***h-slap SB and not each other. Now, I'm gonna put on my green apron soon and go off to another horrendous friday night at my store. (or hell on earth, as we like to call it down under.) Play nice while I'm gone, kids :-)

Just found your site via an write up in German about Starbucks opening stores in Germany. Had my own experience dealing with Starbuck HQ here in Seattle. Their response to a product offering from us was unprofessional, ignorant and in the end threatening. We have never experienced so much arrogance and strange beaviour with a company that size despite their repeated public assurance to be the best in the business. They come across as know it all and nobody else knows coffee as well as they do...blah blah blah blah...It is also noteworthy that they failed with their plans in Switzerland.

Nicole & Imran, I 'm sure we could legally sue but I'm just tired of all the drama that dealing with Starbucks has been. Plus, the Assistant in question actually called me on my day off at 5:00am and starting harrassing me for not coming in. I was so confused! I said, "But, I'm not supposed to come in today." He looked at the schedule again and said, "Okay, I see that's not your shift but you need to come in anyway." I was like, "What? I can't I put my car in the shop and I live 30 min away!" His response? "So you're refusing to come in for your shift!" I said, "It's not my SHIFT! I'm not refusing anything!" He said again"What I'm getting from this is that you're refusing to work your shift." I swear, he actually said that. He even left me off the schedule for the next week because of it. When I confronted him and my manager about it, they said that i'd been great with the employees, great with the customers and that I'd been getting a lot of work done but I seemed 'sad'. i.e. I was forced out of my job because of this guy. I filed that report and even spoke to the district manager but since HE had hired the guy without checking his references the DM had to cover is own a$$. He said that he would talk to the Asst about it and make sure that communication at the store improved. I even told the DM that I had overheard the guy calling me inappropriate names on the floor. But nothing. That was it. The Asst got transferred to another store as a Co-Manager (he got FOUR write ups in the first week!!HELLO!) I'm really sick of dealing with Starbucks. I just feel horrible for all the employees of this district because it's not getting better. Thanks for being shocked! It still shocks me that a company and it's management can be so unprofessional. Does everyone know that there's a new pay raise cap? Maximum is only .30cents an hour. I got a perfect score on my last revue and I got .25 cents an hour raise. Yeah, that'll feed me.

So basically if I'm understanding this correctly, we have a bit of a tiff between an EX employee (Tonya) and an EX customer (Paying Customer)? You would think that just ya'lls hatred for the company as a common ground would alieve some of the issues. Time to move on. As much as I've been enjoying a venue to vent, I get just as much stress and drama from this site as I do working for Starbucks, haha. LYNNY: Guess what buddy, theres no changing anything at starbucks which i believe someone already stated. You stand up for your rights, you get weeded out, or fired. You complain to your DM, nothing is done, or you get fired. Believe me, I was part of turning in one of my managers for theft and did my DM ever come to question me?? Nope, and that manager still works at that store. Its all a bunch of politics. Starbucks spouts how good they treat their employees, but when it comes down to it, they dont give a crap! Know why?? Because they have thousands of other people waiting in line to fill your spot. You're expendable.

For the customers who have a barista who is rude to you: If it's really their fault you can call the 1800 number. But if it's not your fault please don't get someone written up for a mistake that you made. The customer care number is very strick and with them the customer is always right no matter how wrong they are. KRISTEN, you should follow up at that store and the 1 800 number to find out what happened with that barista. I have a little temper too, and I have had that happen. (in your case)She didn't have to ask if you wanted skim, she could've just made your iced latte and said thank you. Everything would have been OK, now she probably got fired for something that petty. If you are a regular customer, they should know your drink. Another customer would plainly order the wrong thing. (EX:Ordering a caramel mach when you really want a caramel frapp. Then demanding it remade like you didn't order the wrong thing) Then I would just remake it without saying anything to person. no thank you no nothing.

To Tonya only: LMAO. You have no right to complain about anything. If you don't like your job, go get another one. McDonald's is hiring, but you will have to treat customers a little better there to keep your job. If this is the way you feel, you don't deserve any respect. And if you want to take off that apron and come after me, come on. To: Siren/ShiftKing: Yes, I'm talking about one particular store. There are 2 other Starbuck's near where I live where I've gotten excellent service. The problem is with the store next to where I work. And, like I said, the rudest people there are the managers/supervisors. Not all customers are bad, and, thankfully, not all baristas are Tonya.

TAMUGIRL- Correction: I no longer work for Starbucks. I'm speeaking on my past experiences as a barista. And I got some rude ones. FOR THOSE WHO DID NOT UNDERSTAND. When I worked at Starbucks I did not go around looking for customers to fight. I never fought any customers actually. I had a customer actually throw a drink on my friend ( yeah it really happened). Just because she was at the bar and a customer after her got their drink first. We tried to explain to her it was becuase it was a companna and she ordered a latte. They take a little longer to make. She got her drink like 3 seconds after him. Then she throws the drink on him and runs out. Another barista immediately ran outside and took down the tags. She went to jail that night for 1st degree assault. That's the stuff I'm talking about. I got customers like this all the time. Now you tell me you wouldn't feel like showing them a thing or two. But what i said is true, there ARE alot of people like me that STILL work at Starbucks. So customers, the ones who are rude, need to watch it. and to THE PAYING CUSTOMER: Don't dish it if you can't get. Sticks and stones. You can't be on site for people who don't like something, try to stick up for it then get mad when somebody says something to you. I was joking with you but if you can't take it then don't write back to me because it can get alot worse than that.

Correction, this was for Tonya:PAYING CUSTOMER: I think i speak for everyone on this page when i say F!@# OFF!!! Tonya- I think that was "slightly" rude. if it wasnt, I dont know what you would call that garbage. You need ot calm down, take a deep breath and meditate. I treat employee's wherever I go w/ respect, if theyre rude to me, I give the treatment back, but as far as seeing someone in public that was rude to threaten to take off the imfamous "green apron" better hope that the they dont run into the rude customer. You never know if the rude customer will go buck wild in ur a$$. So slow ur role down with threating to whip rude customers a$$es. Violence is not always the answer.

Bellinghamster- doesn't sound like a donation...it's just a buzz word used to make him look somewhat better. DC does NOT need another Starbutts in the area!
