It's amazing to me that there are no areas on the starbucks web site to file a complaint. I've been going to a starbucks in the north end of the valley since it opened and now I'm contemplating going elsewhere. Every day now when I go into get my coffee and sit and relax a little, these 5 guys take up all the comfortable chairs and discuss religion loudly. They also arrange meetings and have other people come to this annoying get together. I'm livid!!!!!!!!!!!

I am a store manager who recently put in my two weeks at starbucks. To tell you the truth I had just had it with the 800 pound communist regime called star!!##bucks. You wouldn't believe the micro-mananged crap that you were forced to put up with. The things you had to put your partners through to achieve there rediculous notion of perfect was enough to make anyone feel bad about what they did. I think its the only place I ever worked that you had to hand scrub the cafe grout with a small brush every week. Who that is working in a coffee shop making 7 bucks an hour wants to do that. Everything that anyone did that was even remotely wrong was exploted to the fullest. I have actually gotten phone calls at home on my day off from a dm telling me they saw a partner in my store with too many earings in one ear that I needed to go fix it. You have to be "f'ing" kiding me. They open stores 10 feet from you and never adjust you budget for your bonus. They just tell you to deal with it for a year. You can imagine with the number of stores that open how many managers fall into that freakin catagory. They have no problem opening 10 stores in your immediate area and allowing 10 year old stores that are totally wrecked to suffer and then ask you why they arent' as clean as the other ones. I am no bum manager that didn't do his job and is just bitter and wants to gripe. To the contrary I was in the dm training program and was probably the next to get picked; I walked away from it all because they do not stand for what the say the stand for. There treatment of people is nothing like they say. I my lifetime I have never seen so much backstabbing and screwing each other over. I will trash this company to everyone that i know till the day I die. Avoid the beast even if you have to buy your coffee from the shell station. At least the are miserable and show it; you know it isn't an act.

Hey, I think what you are really complaining about is the lack of choice...Starbucks has always been a predatory business driving away competition not by providing a superior product (although it is marginally better than the vast majority of the alternatives). Starbucks makes it more difficult than everyone else. What do people want? Choice. Good Luck, great site.

THere is nothing to like about Starbucks. Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf all the way. THey may be a chain, but they are family run and actually make decent coffee. And I give them mad props because they dare to put the word TEA in their name. In America even Tea Drinker, and the periodic Ice Blended Mocha (Coffee Bean's of course)

Every summer my family and I would go to a place in Michigan called Mackinac Island. It's a place to escape from your everyday life on the mainland. Cars are not allowed on the island, people get around by bike or horse and buggy. When you're on the island it feels like you went back in time to the early 1800's. Never in a million years would i ever think that they would put a franchise fast food business on this island. Of course Starbucks had to ruin this for me! They put one in a few months ago. I hate Starbuck!

A rather amusing collection of quips and musings of our world’s great (I use that word loosely *spelled correctly*) mental diversity. Thanks for the chuckles! I admire your insight and outspokenness!

Naughty coffee and expensive twice or three times more than a real and good coffe. I live in Guadalajara (Mexico) and Starbucks has opened in less than one year more than 5 stores... not good...

It may be interesting note... http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2007/biz2/0701/gallery.101dumbest_2007/11.html \"One venti, triple-shot, extra-hot lawsuit comin\' right up... In August, Starbucks directs baristas in the southeastern United States to e-mail a coupon for a free iced coffee to friends and family members. But e-mail knows no geographic boundaries and, worse, can be printed repeatedly. After the e-mail spreads to every corner of the country and is reproduced en masse, Starbucks yanks the offer, leading disgruntled customer Kelly Coakley to file a $114 million class-action lawsuit.\"

I am an employee of Starbucks currently. When we opened we had three weeks of training and ONE trainer for about 5 days. Our District Manager comes to our store once a month and our manager is in the store MAYBE 2 hours a day (NEVER on Friday or Saturday) and if he is at the store he is so high on pot that he can't even open his eyes! I just became eligible for benefits a few months ago and since then I have not been scheduled for more than 20 hours which you have to maintain each week to keep your benefits. I have complained to the shift supervisors about problems I am having at work (too many to go into) and to the assistant manager and when I can find him the manager, and nothing is done about them. Over and over again I have tried to get something done about it but they don't give a crap. Starbucks pay is good and the benefits (if you can get them) are good, but they treat you like crap and blame it on you. I work hard and like 95% of the people I work with but this job is not worth it! Complain and your hours get cut! Become eligible for benefits and your hours get cut! THIS COMPANY IS TRYING TO GROW TOO FAST AND DOESN'T GIVE A RAT'S BEHIND ABOUT ITS EMPLOYEES! DON'T EVEN BOTHER TO APPLY! IT'S NOT WORTH IT!

I know from your post that you would like Starbucks vanilla creme recipe. I don't have that. However I have been told by 2 people who rated my recipe at www.allrecipes.com that it is just like it. Here is the recipe hope it helps. 1 mug of milk, 2 TBSP sugar, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/4 tsp nutmeg. In a large mug, stir together the milk, vanilla and sugar. Heat in the microwave on full power for 1 minute and 30 seconds. Stir in nutmeg, and serve hot. Enjoy! Dawn

The movie Demolition Man appears to have gotten it wrong. All restaurants aren't going to become TacoBells; they're going to become Starbucks.

I read some of the "not so clever rebuttals", and thanks for the laughs.... Starbucks not only makes really bad coffee ( I mean, they make a few gallons of espresso and keep it in a thermos for christs sake), but they ROB good, honest coffee shops of their business. Starbucks is just the Wal-Mart of the food service world.

Holy God, Mommyof1. I feel for ya.Single ma, right? Is that really what they are calling it? "First Impressions"? Well, number one, make sure to get those gage things. All the kids are wearing them. Dreadlocks, shaved head, strange eyeglasses-anything. Beef up on knowledge on top-ten corporate idea of what "cool" is. Don't forget that. Pretty much, get clear any faux-ethnicical (is this a word?) signets of status from anything from tv. I'm sure you'll do jus' phine. Peace, mommy of three. Uh, and Ryan, don't ya get it? The very term "corporate" is not a word that is so great to be associated with anymore. Our world is run by an exploitative corporate government. Soon, we will all be slaves to the very same people that our fore fathers fought so hard against. Tyranny or Liberty. These are the only parties that should exsist right now but do not. Best of luck Ryan. I know you will find this answer. I have.

In response to the message from Decays5840: Did you try calling 1-800-23-LATTE? They can connect you to warrenty services. I'm not sure how long SBUX covers their machines and I'm not sure if you still have the receipt or if you regisitered it when it was new, but good luck.

Starbucks is scary. There are so few choices -- even in a big place like Chicago -- where one can enjoy a cup of coffee. Every three blocks one runs into another Starbucks. It didn't take me long to realize that this relentless monopoly has been running independent coffee houses out of business and it's sad that America, which should celebrate its diversity, has to be so damned standardized from coast to coast with chain stores. I'll continue to walk miles out of my way to avoid Starbucks.

In response to Niko on 1/17/07 at 3:55pm. I had a great laugh over this observation. I recently met the actress Parker Posey. She is in many of the Christoper Guest movies. In "Best of Show" she has a line about meeting her husband at Starbucks that they attended daily - across the street from each other. I commented that I loved that line and she said that since his movies are primarily improv she added it after sitting in Vancouver BC having a coffee looking up and realized that there was another Starbucks across the street! Starbucks makes life funnier than fiction.

Now, I have no interest in bashing any of the entrees because I really do enjoy this website and the spirit it possesses, but I am however much more interested in discovering new facts and learning about the true corrputions that plague the company itself instead of hearing complaints about starbucks managers from employees that continue to work there. Because that by itself seems completely insignificant compared to putting out information and facts that will discourage potential buyers from patronizing a company of this magnitude (and we all are well aware of how many people purchase beverages from a place that has tens of thousands of locations)... so if there is anyone out there that is interested in giving me and others valuable information that we have not learned already, then it would be greatly appreciated by me and many people that i am most likley to tell because of the desire to steer people away from starbucks. -p é a c e

I was a long-time and loyal customer. I purchased a Barista Aroma Grande 12-cup coffee maker in December, 2003 (SKU 182945). It is no longer working, and I cannot find anyone at Starbucks that can instruct me on how to get it repaired. Is the company really that naive about the products it sells? I have begged Starbucks for some feedback on this annoying issue, and all they can say is to find an appliance repair shop on my own. I cannot find one that will touch this cheap, overpriced coffee maker.

I stopped at a road stop Starbucks in upstate NY about a month ago and the crack baby workers screamed obscenities at me because I asked for cream! I made the mistake of complaining and they filed a Police complaint against me! The cop laughed about it along with me, but still, these people are out of control. I had a 25 dollar gift card which I just cut up and threw away. I know they have the money already but I'll never drink that swill again!

Lol nice policy, and the idea of ihate-ihatestarbucks.com... Anyhow, Nice page, I see why many people hate SB, would like to know WHY YOU DO. I live in Mexico City and over the past few years SB has spread like a Disease... I have to say it's one of the most overpriced coffeeshops still they strive... I have to admit their atmosphere is not too bad, I even go there serve myself a cup of milk for free, and read something... And by the way someone said it's a great place to take a crap. IT SURE IS! Remember people, always go there when in need... Good luck with the webpage, Amigo. P.S. Where it says Bienvenido a "Odio Starbucks" it's more correct if you add the preposition "a" like: "Odio a Starbucks".

Starbuck's often brags about treating their employees great, I've been there for five years and I've noticed a steady decline. Our store needs a lot of remodelling, but instead of improving the ergonomics of the store to benefit the employees who constantly have to work incorrectly to accomadate lack of space and out dated design, they build not 1 more not 2 more , but 4 more stores in this area!!!

With reference to Charbucks (their coffee is burnt and too hot)! As an ex-coffee drinker I now drink tea. For a laugh try ordering an Herbal Iced Tea from Charbucks. Just to see the reaction is worth it! The "Barista" will strongly advise that it "takes a while" (4 minutes) or better yet say they cannot make it! I guess they are too busy making "girly drinks". Thanks for the outlet to vent (not Venti)!
