Thank you so much. Seriously people need to realize that starbucks isn't actually coffee. I personally have not entered one for three years. The point at which I realized that I should stop, was when I asked for a nonfat crappacino and they said they couldn't do that because it was a powder they mixed with water. That is not coffee. Now I try and find as many coffeehouses around the portland area that are way better. I found an amazing one called coffeehouse northwest. A starbucks was just built across the street. Now I am afraid that they will go out of business. That would suck

Have we become sheep? Why do we tolerate some 20-something behind the counter throwing our change back at us? They act as if they are put-out by serving us. Another example, If I place a coffe on my side of the counter you would assume that it is mine, not yours. Likewise, If I place it on your side of the counter, it belongs to you. So why the disrespect? Perhaps its chic to disrespect people, but not me. I think they should be rewarded for thier actions. Let's put up placards and boycot.

I Don't hate starbucks I loathe Starbucks and everything they stand for. I remember when I could go anywhere and get a cup of coffee for 50 cents or less. Apearantly coffee is more valuable than gasoline nowadays which is another outragous story. This of course I blame on Starbucks who started this whole crazy espresso thing. I also get a little puke in my mouth every time I think about the extremely few times (i can count on one hand) that i patroned this store and the look down your nose service i got when ordering a regular coffee. Who the hell are these losers working at a minimum wage job to look down thier nose at me. And I won't have the 911 incident fall into obscurity either Starbucks! When the towers fell starbucks refused even WATER to the fireman that were giving thier friggen lives to save people that day. I sometimes dream about puking all over the counter at my local starbucks for good dramatic effect.

Praise and exaltation! Finally, a site that hates corporate falseness and pretense! Ever so glad to have found you! I passed by a Starbucks once-didn't care to partake in an expensive liquid that smelled like field worker's b.o., pretense and false ideas of free-thinking and diversity when all coffee really does is support murder and death in other places around the world! Besides, why would I want to listen to the top ten classification of what's fed to me in the corporate line of "cool" when all I wanted was a cup of coffee, which incidentally, I got at home much cheaper and all be it aside, I pour that, and everything else better at home.

I have another thing to say. I worked at starbucks for 4 years. I was in a training video and they made me the "star" because I was brown skinned and they wanted the video to prvide diversity. They even hired african american and asian actors to join in. They asked me what nationality I was and I told them that I was Italian. Then when the video came out they had named me "tom Hernandez". What is that?! Fake sense of diversity. That is what Starbucks provides. It is worse then Abercrombie. At lease they are upfront about it. I was used. When I asked about it all they said was, "we are using spanish names to appeal to others, to creat a more rounded company."

This is my first of many posts. I thought it'd be funny to post about starbuck's customers who come in every single day and get their cup of steamed sugar and milk. What the hell? It's 6 am and you're practically having desert for breakfast? And just think there are some who come in every morning for their venti xtra-xtra carmel frappuccino and American's wonder why their so f-in fat and sick all the time. I had a woman call the other day who acted shocked when she saw a News segment about fat content in Starbuck's drinks. She was upset that "we" didn't tell her about how fattening our drinks are, I wonder if customers have any sense of logic sometimes. Do they even realize our coffee is a joke? Well, maybe except for our Fair Trade coffee.

Imagine Barista Abbott working in ****bucks as Customer Costello walks in: C: Gimme a small coffee. A: We don\'t have small coffee. You want a tall coffee. C: If I wanted a big coffee I would have asked for a big coffee, kapeesh? A: Big coffee - you mean a grande? C: Yeah grande. That means big in Italian. I\'m Italian, you know! A: Well, if you want a grande you want a medium coffee. C: I don\'t want a grande coffee or a medium coffee, I want a small coffee! A: You mean a tall coffee. C: Tall, short, whatever. A: We don\'t serve short coffee, we serve tall coffee. C: What does height got to do with a cup of coffee??? A: Nothing. We sell tall coffee and grande coffee. C: You mean small and medium coffee. A: We don\'t sell small coffee, we sell tall coffee. You want a medium, you order a grande. C: I\'m getting so confused!!! A: If you can wait a minute, I have another customer. Yes madam, what would you like? Woman: A shot of Espresso, please. A: Here you go. (Gives her the shot) C: Wait a minute! You just gave that woman a small coffee! A: No, she asked for an Espresso. C: So if I want a small coffee I ask for an Espresso? A: No, if you want a small coffee you ask for a tall coffee. C: I\'m not asking you for a large coffee! A: No, you want a... C: If you say grande I\'ll shove that green apron down your neck! A: No need to get hostile sir!. Just a moment, I have another customer. Yes sir? Man: A double Espresso, if you please. A: Coming right up. (Gives him a cup with his double) C: Now wait a minute!!! That guy ordered a double espresso and you just gave him half a cup of coffee! What gives? A: We put the double espresso in a tall cup for safety\'s sake. C: And you charged him twice as much to get half a cup of coffee!!! A: He didn\'t get that. He got a double espresso. C: A double? A: Yes sir, a double. C: So a single is short, a double is half a tall, a tall is small and a grande is really medium? A: If you say so, sir. C: I DON\'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I\'M TALKING ABOUT!!! A: No need to get upset, sir. C: This is giving me a headache. What if I want a really big coffee. Not a short or a double or a tall or a grande. What do you call that, smart guy? A humungo? A: No, that\'s called a Venti. C: A VENTI! That\'s Italian for twenty! I don\'t even understand all this when you explain it in English! Why do they call it a Venti? Does it cost twenty dollars? A: No, We call it a Venti because it would take me twenty minutes to explain our menu again to you... Another patron comes in. Patron: \"Give me a Venti half caf half decaf with a shot of espresso added and a touch of vanilla and soy milk, one packet of Equal and two Splenda. And a cookie.\" C: ARRRRRGH!!!!!!!!!!

And there's this really frustrating guy that works there on saturdays and sundays...... hmmm I guess starbucks was a good idea to start out with. but now, it's just out of control

what i want to know is why hasn't there been a class action lawsuit filed against starbucks for making it's employees drive around the deposit and to get product. non of this is in our job description and we are not required to do this. if you manager asks you to take the deposit or get product. walk or bus. the store will have to do a paid out for it. how many dollats do you spend on car maintenence and gas. we don't get paid enough to be giving money away to this multi-billion dollar company. they are greedy dude. not cool.

Starbucks coffee is bitter and tastes burnt. They don't need to monopolize the market to this extent. Coffee People has the best coffee in the area...they have the whole proccess down pat. Starbucks only has sugar free flavors..What the hell about that!!? AND they charge for wireless interent. WTF? Do they really need to join AT&T to rake in even more money?

I hate Starbucks because they are arrogant, their coffee is NOT the best you can get, and they charge exhorbitant prices. Their stupid lingo they force on you - try asking for a "large" coffee. I go to OTHER coffee houses and find MUCH BETTER coffee, and you don't have to wait in line, waiting for those stupid GIRLY DRINKS (frappicino with caramel, mocha, etc.etc Lingo etc.etc.) to be concocted in their loud milkshake mixers. They should call their businesses "Starbucks Milkshakes & Coffee". But what I REALLY hate about Starbucks is the small talk BETWEEN EMPLOYEES, while I am waiting for my coffee or cappucino. I had to wait while they finished THEIR CONVERSATION before I could get my coffee. It's like they are trained to do this, like it's MY pleasure that THEY are waiting on me, and that I can wait while THEY finish their small talk. That's what forced me to go to other coffee houses. Try the Coffee Bean, or if you're lucky, a one-of-a-kind coffee house. They all have better coffee, and you don't have a long wait while the employees "horse around" behind the counter. I hate Starbucks so much that I will do without coffee rather than settle for their CRAP. They're not getting another dollar from me.

okay so my manager is a moron. you have to kiss his ass every single time. ive worked for sbux for 4 months and im getting fed up with his bs but i have to stay cos the money. he has his stupid pet monkey in his side and i hate that moron too.. The stupid pet monkey is the last person to get hired out of all of us and is a retard who cant even make drinks right and is so slow. When a customer orders a drink he takes forever to label it in the cup when the partner at the bar is pulling a shot for the drink and the shot is gonna die. He acts as if he is in love with coffee and acts as if he is a coffee master. He kisses the DM's ass by asking when are the classes for the aroma lab or some retarded $#!+ to be a coffee master. When we were in training class and introduce ourselves (like saying wat our fav sbux bev was) and he would say that it was the french roast. my ass... french roast tastes like socks and water. he would act as if he is sophisticated and be like you know, at first i thought all coffee tastes the same but now i realize the difference. My ass if u thought at first coffee tastes the same then why do u say french roast was ur fav? he is so stupid. he doesnt even drink coffee or anything and he says his fav is french roast. he always tries to drink watever the SM drinks on his break. he just drinks frappuccinos and he's saying that he loves coffee.. 411. frappuccino is not coffee.. retard. i go to school and he does not go to school so his availability is ANY. I cant work in specific times cos i got school. im the AM shift and i scheduled my school based on those times so that i could have promised hours but then here the manager goes scheduling me at night. He asked me if i'd prefer working mornings or nights and i say morning and he scheudles me at night.... WTF why do u even ask? then he schedules his pet to the morning, when he can work at night since he doesn't have a life. but no, the manager wants to work with him so he schedules me at night instead. THe SM wanted him to be the SS when he can't even make drinks or do anything right. i hate his fake laugh. Okay, so the first week of working with the retard, i had like 5 dollars over my till and i was going to be written up. that stupid moron used my till and i asked him why and he was like because i didnt wanna make customers wait. i was like wtf?!! he was short 5 dollars. how IRONIC?! and then the other time he was like short 20 bucks and my SS was over 20 bucks cos he was using HEr till. i hate his guts but he won't get fired since he is the SM's pet. i want to transfer so bad. it's so funny to just watch him in a long line since he cant handle so much customers he will freak out. he starts talking to himself and humming.. OMG he's so stupid. well just 2 more months and i will transfer myself somewhere away from tht idiot. anyways thanks for reading this msg.. it sounds as if im complaining too much but try working with a retard and his pet... OMGGGGG.......

Working in the UK at Starbucks, call me naieve but i thought all the Americans out there loved starbucks (Please don't all hurl abuse at once). The enthusiasm from American customers who visit the UK in particular inspires me to believe that maybe all the corporate 'bull' pays off in the States, Here in the UK we serve mainly in mugs and if your diswasher breaks, your not allowed to use mugs (you can't kill the bacteria). I've never known such a bunch of sad-sad people moan because it tastes different in a paper cup and they say; do we get a discount because its not in a mug? Its the same "@~#ing price! I have worked for the company for four years now (more fool me) and i've seen a few changes. I'm on about $12/hr converted from GBP's and the amount of earache i have to put up with because there aren't enough seats in store or they've been waiting at the bar for 5 mins with a queue out the door. Can someone tell me, why join a queue if you don't have time to wait and then take it out on the poor bastard at the till whos trying to serve you with a smile and greeting as quickly as possible? I believe the company should be renamed 'Fussbucks'. Can someone please tell me how to tell the difference between a dry latte and a wet cappucino? And if i say something: [i am] to quote a customer 'being patronising' I HAVE BEEN WORKING HERE FOUR YEARS, YOU WOULDN'T KNOW A CAPPUCINO FROM A FRAPPUCINO IF I MADE YOU WEAR IT! CUSTOMERS - Wake Up, The people behind the counter are human, we make mistakes sometimes yes, but we aren't here to be targets for your abuse, if you haven't got anything nice to say to us....

I've just begun working at Starbucks, but I never wanted to. And now that I work there, I hate it even more. I'm from the Seattle area and so I've always liked coffee. I grew up on it but I never really went to Starbucks because there are a lot of places to get coffee in the Northwest besides Starbucks. When I moved to Arizona though, it was a whole other story. No more real coffee places and no more genuinely cool people(I've only met a handful). Everyone here is concerned with appearance and Starbucks, huge sunglasses, little dogs, brand name clothing, a college degree, a nice car and all of that bullshit make a beautiful person. These are the people that I see come into Starbucks every day. It makes me sick. I just wanted to work with coffee I guess. I guess that I wanted a piece of home. I can't wait to get out of AZ and I can't wait to get out of Starbucks. I don't want to hear the word partner again. Screw that. I don't want to hear about how they are helping the community. Starbucks isn't my savior.

I've been a partner now for 2 months. HATE it. Just a part time second job to pay off a few bills. I actually like the drinks and the other Baristas. However, I had no idea the work would be so tough. I have never worked so hard at any other job for so little money. If you are not running a marathon to help the huge line of cars in the drive through and customers in the cafe, you are mopping floors, doing dishes, cleaning toilets, etc. Some of the customers are cool, but believe me, this legendary customer care is FAKE. We are forced to be nice to the customers or we won't get hours. We are always out of product, under staffed and expected to push the customer to buy more. If the customer wanted more, they would have asked for it. This job pays a lousy $7.30 an hour to prostitue yourself out for a huge beating. The hours are crazy. I had to close the store one night and was scheduled to come back exactly 8 hours later the next morning. Sometimes we are scheduled for 35 hours, sometimes only 11. Hard to rely on a steady paycheck. Some customers get offended because I didn't remember their name and drink from yesterday. Do you even realize HOW MANY PEOPLE come through here? Why would I want to put in the time to remember you always get Decaf, Sugar Free, Nonfat, No Foam? The manager is always stressing out about keeping an eye on productivity. Crazy! People are paying $12 for two Venti blah blah blahs and you can't afford to have one more person here to help. Seriously, the Partners need a union to protect themselves from the corporate insanity. Thank the heavans it's not a career for me. Bless the fooled, brainwashed Barista's that think it is a career. One more thing, I cannot STAND the people that just come in here for hours and just take up space. Don't you folks have homes?

I work at starbucks and completely agree that our coffee is not the best. In fact, ill take one of those little stands blended drinks over a frappuccino anyday. Do I believe the propaganda about being fair-trade and bean farmer oriented? To a degree, but I also dont forget that starbucks is a coorporation, and they are out to make money, not please people. what i do know is at my store at least (sorry if other stores sucked it up service wise) we ARE there to be kind, friendly, and get people their coffee setting new land speed records behind the counter. We get pissy people, old people who want to talk about their life story with ten people behind them, bratty kids who knock stuff over, and we will still smile all day long, because we are not only there to provide coffee (no matter how shitty it may be to you), but were also a place to hang out and relax, somewhere to get away from home and work. It does suck that starbucks is associated with the soccer-mom/bitchy girl who just wants a double soy latte with light foam and any other special option you can think of, but there is also a knowledge of coffee to be had there. Of course those girls dont know anything about the coffee, because they dont get coffee, they get specialty drinks which just has espresso shots in it. Oh speaking of "class issues" which someone posted about, we get such a different variety of people in our store it is insane. I dont look twice at someone in dirty work clothes or a 1000 dollar business suit. They both pay 5 dollars for a latte and my health insurance. thanks starbucks! p.s. i like the site, its good to hear the other side of things. but dont hate the player, hate the game.

Well Well. Big respect to all who have commented here. There are many big wig companies like starbucks who lead todays fickle consumers up the proverbial garden path with regards to good quality and value for money. Starbust are just the McDonalds of coffee houses. They are to quality coffee what MickD's are to quality food. Many young people dont know and may never know quality food and sadly many of these wont have a clue about coffee either having had Starbums as their teacher. Most of the people I see at my local ones are the vainity ridden sorts whose shopping trip just isn't complete without a trip to get ripped off and have a crap excuse for a coffee at their favourite coffee disposal outlet st.arsebust. Dont know why other coffee houses dont just cater for the fickle like starbucks do alongside their true appreciating customers and offer similar pretentious made up fake ass coffees for their amusement. Need to play them at their own game as its the consumer who has put this scamhouse where it is today. In UK its different i'm sure, however in US conditions for staff are little better than SH*TE, I've seen this. Fartbucks exploit the overflowing market for workers by offering rubbish wages and of course the irresistable offer of the best most fashionable coffee for free. what a deal. But I got to be the biggest hippoc since i'm partial to a caramel mach. what a tos*er ey!!

And my manager is **************** He became a manager in just 3 months of working for starbucks and the partners in the store he trained all didnt like him ..... and now he's a new store manager and the partners in the store dont like him either and it shows because 2 people quit already and 2 more people are slowly not showing up... he treats the partners like crap and doesnt know how to schedule u correctly. omg so much stories... i will be back to message again... :D:D:D this is jus the beginning!
