HAHA I love hearing about other peoples complaints who also work at the bux! Yes the pay is BUTT! The outfit is so stupid. What the hell is the point of me wearing black shoes and black SOCKS??? CAN ANYONE SEE MY SOCKS??? If they could would they even care. I dont think so! Probally the thing I cant stand the most is the public I agree they suck and they are for the most part stupid as hell. Its the worst when u close at 11:30pm and people come in for a Frap at 11:25 and want to sitdown GRR. Plz more complaints I love hearing them

I work for the BUX and I have to say, aside from all the corporate bull (which is mostly true), the reason Bux sucks so much is because of the customers. Those stupid people who believe that everything they see in their world IS the world. Going into a small private coffee shop and ordering a Grande is just like going to Burger King and asking for Chicken McNuggets. Also, to those complaining about us having soy milk, but not for every drink; There is a reason for that: IT'S BECAUSE YOU DON'T NEED IT! I hate the people who come into our store and ask for a soy caramel macchiato or white mocha, claiming that they're lactose intolerant. Hello?! Caramel is almost half butter and our white mocha's main ingredeint is skim milk which contains lactose. Just because you threw up or had stomach cramps after eating an extra large portion of deep fried cheddar balls doesn't mean you're lactose intolerant. Idiots! And our soy milk contains 4.5 grams of fat per 8oz. You'd be better off drinking skim. As for me, I patronize small coffee shops just because I like the change in atmosphere and I smoke. Not being able to smoke in a Bux is like not allowing fat people into McDonalds. This is definitely not a job I want to do for a long time but overall its a pretty good one. Then again, I work at a very laid back, not-very-busy Starbucks.

I WORK AT STARBUCKS. It's an F'n embarassment. The pay is a total joke, they should not take SO much pride in their offer of MEDICAL BENEFITS to their overworked employees as EVERY MAJOR COMPANY IN THE UNITED STATES SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO DO. I'm tired of dressing up like a degenerate softball player and parading around all day like I love everyone. Fact of the matter is THE PUBLIC SUCKS AND I HATE YOU ALL! I'm sure all of you who share in my crappy employment can relate. Well hell, this was kinda theraputic and I already feel a little bit better. I'm sure my early rise at 3:30 in the morning to go swallow my pride for another eight and a half hours will be sure to take care of that. Thanks Starbucks.

I love your site and it's speaks the truth about the way they run starbucks. I have been in a few and the way the manager runs there stores is shocking. I have never seen a business go through so many employees. And I have talk to many employees about how horrible they are treated. I will no longer support a company thats treats people in this way and niether will my friends.

I work at satrbucks and it sucks. The company is cheap as hell. At the end of the day the sun blinds us to the point of not even being to see at all! I asked for blinds and the multi billion dollar company said it will cost to much to give us blinds. The water is filtered but they are to cheap to give us new filters so i can only change the water filter every other month So it looks like crap when its changed. IT SUCKS

| hey SAINJAMES:
Yes, it has a dairy base in it but it also as hydrogenated soy/protein bases which act like a preservative (ie: eventhough peanut butter cups have dairy, they have preservatives to make sure they dont spoil). yes, it does expire. of course. it shouldnt be used after 24 hrs (fridge or not). however, to contract actual food poisoning from it is nearly impossible. especially because of all of that sugar, the coffee and the speed with wich it metabolizes. not saying it cant happen, just saying it is so unlikely. i'll bet my BEAN STOCK on it.
hahahah*COUGH*hahah. |

| I hate starsucks because they have ruined the way we drink coffee in the US. Thanks to starsucks, this country is lining up to buy overpriced, burned coffee.
Their coffee sucks because the beans are burned. Starsucks beans are roasted until they turn black and oily. The oil turns rancid and gives their coffee that overly bitter, burned taste. Before starsucks became successful, most coffee was medium roasted. Now coffee is frequently burned and overpriced no matter where you get it.
Thanks starsucks! Good luck with your quest to ruin coffee around the world. |

I have been threw the hills of Popayan and Cali to pick coffee cherries and worked the process of what it takes to produce a good bean. The steps from picking to drinking. I do not claim to be a expert by any means. The story some schmuck in a green apron tried BS'n me about when I was in Starbucks the other day just confirmed that not only are their Baristas a bunch of under trained idiots but that the companys formed speach on the production of coffee is completly off whack. It is a shame that these punks can't even get the simple things right let alone make a decent espresso.

Has anyone ever tried there fresh espresso? Just the straight stuff with no pollutants? I've tried it a couple times at different locations to try and give them a chance. EVERY time I had one, I could tell right away that the beans had been way over-roasted, then they apparently used more than a normal dose to compensate for the loss of flavor. Result: I can only predict that drinking dog poo would be less dissapointing.

ShiftForLife: Frappuccino, like any other Dairy product, has an experation date and needs to stay chilled for longer shelf life. DUH? Right? Well, not when alot of these stores neglect day dots and the first in first out method. I have seen Frappuccino go bad in 24 hours and still be served to customers because of the ignorance of managers. Extremely harmful bacteria grow when the frappuccino raises in temp. after it's mixed with the coffee base. I used to work at a Starbucks in the NYC metro area, and let me tell you... What a Mess! Worse than alot of NYC fast food places!

For all you pastery fans. There is something that you should know about the 'fresh baked' crap you are eating. It is not fresh, I know this for a fact. It is also NOT organic. Everything is pre-made in some plant, with lower middle-class workers. Then it is all frozen, delivered, and maybe if yer lucky you will shove it in yer mouth 3 months later. IT IS ALL A TRICK, NOT FRESH AT ALL, A BIG CORPERATE LIE!!!!!!!

Starbucks is plastered all over my town, Santa Rosa CA. They did here what they do in every city across the United States . However this past week, Peets Coffee out of Berkley CA, decided to give Starbucks A lil taste of there own medicine by opening there very first store in Santa Rosa CA directly across from Starbucks.I went to Peets today and they were packed, and then I walked across the street to look in the windows of Starbucks and it was virtually empty. Its about time someone plays there game and hurts them where it hurts them most !

When Starbucks first began in Seattle they were a local coffee shop that the people of seattle enjoyed patronizing. NOW sbux has turned into a corporate monster and should be taken down. I strongly oppose their belief that they have the right to introduce the idea of a "to go" cup of coffee to parts of the world that centralize their society around sitting down and having an espresso. The United States is the only country in the world where you will find people walking and eating or drinking at the same time. We should keep our "to go" mentality within our own borders, and stop thinking that our wya of doing things is the right way, becasue its not. Sbux has introduced themselves to the city of Paris. Paris is known for their SIT DOWN caffes and bistros. Either Starbucks will not survive in Paris or Parisians will discover the joys of a "to go" cup of coffee, which I hope they do not. May I ask, what is the point of traveling outside of the United States if you can go from New York or L.A. to Kenya, Paris, or Bejing and find a Starbucks or Banana Republic???? WHAT IS THE POINT OF EVER LEAVING???? Keepp these companies within the borders of the United States and lets stop infecting other countries with our twisted beliefs.

Having just discovered your website I thought I'd share a charming little tale. It was July 4th, 2003 and my two comrades and I were more than just a tiny bit salty over having to work on this holiday in particular as it made the empty sham that is the american dream so glaringly obvious. Undaunted, I took the first opportunity to sneak out to a liqour store a block over and came back with a fifth of vodka. When I returned we proceeded to fix ourselves a round of high powered citrus fraps. That was the beginning of a truly fine independence days' evening. It devolved into us cutting the sleeves off of our shirts, drawing tatoos on our arms with the marker you use to mark the drinks on the cups, ripping through three boxes of nitrous chargers (for the whipped creams), turning the stereo way up, handing out many a free drink (which ensured our tip jar was very full that night) and launching into many a leftist rant upon a public that for the most part could not have been more understanding. Yes friends, it felt like a victory indeed.

By the way, to all of those people complaining about SBUX in Barnes and Noble, grocery stores, airports and some college campus places- they arent really SBUX. They are alliance stores who rent the name Starbucks but are still owned by whichever organization (Albertsons, Kroger, Vons, Super Target) has them on their property. They dont have the same standards as a regular store and use slighty different stock than we do. Also, SBUX cards dont work there (to the idiot who complained earlier) because they arent Starbucks. It even says so on the back of the SBUX card. grr.

i work at a local coffee shop and am extremely proud of the fact that i have never stepped foot in a starbucks. besides the fact that starbucks is everywhere and stealing my business, i absolutely despise it when a customer comes into my store asking for a carmel macchiato and doesnt even realize what the f**k a macchiato really is! or when they order a double grande vanilla cappucino. starbucks has taken the names of italian coffee drinks and applied them to drinks that dont even remotely resemble the originals. and im sorry any coffee shop that uses a machine that the employee only has to press a button to operate doesnt know the first thing about coffee. making espresso is an art. the weather can greatly affect the espresso, therefore you need to alter the grind and amount you use to get a good shot...the completely automatic machines just dont cut it

I live in London and love it over here, with all of the gorgeous Italian and French cafes, and over the last three years, what do I see? Starbucks everywhere!!! I am American, and I feel that I have to apologize for the huge corporation that is putting the better coffee shops out of business - They are even putting on on the high street near me accross from the wonderful little Italian cafe that serves great, reasonably priced coffee!! Woe is me, death and destruction to the evil giant! Help me please!!!

I now really know my store manager is really insane... After getting my late yearly review, with a score of 2(which means that I meet the job's expectations, I got a 9 cent raise! And she said it was undisputable until I showed "improvement"! I think it's time for me to find another job. 9 cents?! I bet no other Barista could top that! I must be working with one of the Cheapest managers that SBUX has ever had! :( SBUX loses good & caring workers over their stinking budget! I hope all of you, SBUX Co.investors sleep well at night! Good workers gone over budget=profits go bye bye! ;) I don't ask for a million bucks, but for me, just 25 cents would have made the difference between going or staying, and I was neglected this because I do not want to "improve" or become a shift! That's my story! Thanks!
