I\'ve worked for Starbucks off and on for the last 2 yrs...basically working PT since the 1st day...and do you know that neither management in NC or in OH have taken the time out to get me to move onto become a CERTIFIED barista? Starbucks management is not any better from one state to the next...they LIE to their employees and don\'t listen to any staff member but the ASS kissers! I\'ll keep showing my face to be included in the discount...But for those people who think it\'s so great...get a job in the real world...and just keep Starbucks where they belong...on the SHORT end of the stick :o) Have a great day everyone!

Starbucks coffee is about as enjoyable as Sanka Instant. Who gives a s*** what they think a good cup of coffee is. Quit your f****** jobs there and send them a Starbucks coffee bag full of dog s***. Maybe then they'll get the idea.

Pulled permit being reconsidered for Sonoma CA. Part of process has clouded/prevented buyer for Caffe Maxi, Maxwell Village Sonoma CA. No alternate buyers/occupancy permitted while shopping center owners consider relocating an existing renter to make space for Starbucks. Sonoma has some 12 great coffee houses already and a city policy of resisting fast-food/chains! Petition signers of the local coffee shops and some other businesses numbering over 600 do not desire a Starbucks in City of Sonoma CA. In keeping with other chain adventures -- Use Beans not Cows for Great Coffee. No Starbucks, City of Sonoma CA. Thanks, Phil

I only have a few things to say. I used to drink Starbucks all the time when I lived in California (completely unaware of the lack of humanity wihtin the company). I used to work for another coffee company based out of Berkeley,CA that was another bad bad company. I have definately done my share of coffee companies. I moved up here to Oregon last year and found the GREATEST coffee company in the whole wide world (Dutch Bros.). I am very sad to tell everyone though that they are not big company and have no plans of speading into other states.

I'd just thought that I would share with everyone that Starbucks can be a good company, depending on what manager you are slaving for (their bonus). I work for the bean bastards, and have been falsely promised promotions. Starbucks just wants you to say hello mr. rogers, can I start your Iced, quad, venti, 2 pump vanilla, blended, lite ice, stirred, lite caramel sauce, caramel latte, double cupped today?, Just so the snapshot person can recognise the Extra conversation step, for the dumb five star snapshop, so the manager can look good and bonus. All just for Coffee. Isnt that a shame? Anyways back to the promotion part. I've been with the company for three years, and during my interview, I was promised RMT which is assistant manager position. I'm still a shift supervisor. what happend! I know. A BUNCH OF FALSE PROMISES! Starbucks stupid terms and saying's (don't be reactive, be proactive. another word for "you are screwing up" is devlopement and coaching. What a bunch of crock. Starbucks is so snobish, they try to look good to employes by hiding what they really mean. Some advise, yeah go ahead and apply for starbucks, but only if its your first job. haha. Like everyone says. Steal as much as you can. you'll never get caught. Great christmas gifts for all. THANKS STARBUCKS. RETALIATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the information. Based on employee's comments about their treatment by management, I will NEVER patronize Starbucks again. Although I realize that my absence will hardly affect Starbucks, I feel it's a statement I can make against treating people poorly.

Well I've just finished yet another day of punishment at my Starbucks store. I wont say where it is but its a location in the southern hemisphere. Basically I dont care if people like or hate the coffee. Some kind of focus should also be noted in the treatment of Starbucks "partners" the term they use as if to make us all feel like we are working together. its hardly that way at all. they use and very much abuse anyones once existing passion. when i originally started at starbucks 2 years ago i was sooooo into the company and the coffee. i was trully a puppet. im glad i have come to think for myself. i have a district manager who is the epitomy of evil. shes manipulative, kaniving, bitchy, two faced, horrible human being. she enjoys walking over everyone!! i have had to work anywhere up to 120 hours within the space of 10 days without a break. as in a day off in between, without so much as a thanks so much for your efforts. i was in charge of my store for 1 week whilst my manager was away and sure i got thanks for scrubbing the floors but why arent you directing your partners to do their job(even though they knew quite well what was needed to be done) i think ive rambled a tad too much here but yeah upper management in the company is doing a poor job at what they do. no wonder there is such a massive turn over within this company. Staff focussed? i dont think so. Financially foccused? all the way. Bad people skills!!

I live in a small town and our Starbucks is great. They get the drink I want and know me by name whenever I come in. But when I've gone to other Starbucks I've noticed problems. Either the mix tastes rancid, or the employees are rude. I notice most of the complaints here are coming from people in populated areas ~ and I've also noticed that people in populated areas can tend take one another for granted in general. If you have a complaint about Starbucks and you're a customer, then write the company or complain to a manager. If it's the kind of complaint that can't be solved, take your business elsewhere. That's the great American way. And if you're an employee and you're complaining, then get off your a** and find another job. There's no justification for wasting your life in a job you don't like....and none for stealing either. If you're stealing you've got worse issues. Be sure the Starbucks people are reading this too. And you know they don't have those security cameras for nothing. Maybe next time we hear from you you'll be working at the nearest prison in your fair state. But I'm sure you'll find something to complain about there, too.

I hate Starbucks for a few reasons. First, they make billions of dollars in revenue, but they can't even buy fair trade coffee to provide their "partners" with decent living conditions. Second, I am writing a project on their company, because I thought it would be nice, and I wanted to get some information on what they do to help the environment (because I have never seen a recycling bag for the paper cups and napkins that I receive), but they just gave me the same information that I found on their website. Anyways, that's all I have to say.

I understand what you are all saying about starbucks. The sad thing is that most of the world is run by poorly managed, shitty merchandise selling, empty promises, stupid rule making corporations. I don\'t want to say I hate starbucks but I sure as hell dont love it. I mean the only thing they are good for is one of those Frappaccions. Which by the way are a complete paradox in themselves. The \'drink\' as starbucks calls it actually has enough calories in it to be considered a small meal. Think about all the cream, syrups, and sugars, you gain 5 pounds just thinking about it. But starbucks gets to call it a beverage... they have the whole world thinking it\'s just like going to the vending machine and buying a coke. SO thats my main problem with starbucks. I guess the second would be that there is no atmosphere. I mean we\'ve all know their merch sucks, and that working there sucks, so why does it exist. I mean is being served by a green apron in a brown/taupe room really worth the $5 you\'ll spend, on awful coffee??? I mean why do people go??? There\'s nothing warm and inviting about it, that\'s what make starbucks appeal, it\'s generic for the working class. Like your fastfood joints, in out, no room for the casual poet. Thank god I don\'t live anywhere near a starbucks!

One thing I remember when last in Starbucks was asking if they had any swiss water decaf? The employee looked at me as if I was speaking greek and had to look in the book to find out. It\'s one thing to complain about how they can\'t make drinks, but they also don\'t even know what they sell. Oh, what\'s with their little trademarked Flavorlock? It\'s just a one way gas valve that allows the CO2 to escape and unlike the bag says, there is no possible way the coffee is as fresh as the day it was roasted, especially after sitting on the shelf for seven months.

I have a buddy who own a local coffee shop and he makes the best coffee in the world. I thought after going to him for coffe that all coffee must be like that. Thats when I went to Starbucks, I ordered the same Americano I get from 2% Jazz every day. The coffee they gave me was disgusting, I could not even finish it. I threw it out. Start with Mega corp beans and untrained and uncaring staff and the end result is sure to be CRAP. Check out 2% Jazz if your ever in Victoria BC, you can get a good coffee there. http://www.2percentjazz.com

My district manager just told me that I can't lock up the tables and bring in the umbrellas until 5 minutes before close. Why? Because the umbrellas create "atmosphere." And how would I feel if I pulled up to Starbucks and somebody was locking up the tables outside? Well, considering it's 9:00 at night and 40 degrees, I would ask "Are you guys still open?" (As most people do, but it's not like we're even busy to begin with) What I love is when a customer comes in two seconds before I lock the door and orders a 1/2 caff quad venti 1 pump sugar-free-vanilla 1/2 pump almond nonfat extra hot, extra foam 1 equal 1 sweet and low latte. (who the hell mixes equal with sweet and low?) Then they commence shopping in our tiny retail section for fifteen minutes, ignoring the fact that we want to get the hell out! I'm lucky, my manager is awesome but I have to watch her work 16 hour days and then get chewed out by the DM who doesn't have a clue as to the day to day operations of the store. Did he ever work as a barista? "Well, I trained in Chicago and worked behind the counter..." Look, just because you swept the floor while everyone laughed at you behind your back in Chi-town doesn't mean you know best. My only solace? Stealing supplies and selling them on ebay. That's right Howard. That's right Orin. I'm stealing things from your precious store and there's not a thing you can do about it. And do you know why? Because no matter how much fluff you put on about six guiding principles and star skills, you are still a transnational corporation making a huge profit off the little people. I can't drink the fair trade b/c it DOES tastes horrible, I often wonder if you did that on purpose? I don't care what your defenders say, (Rob, you're an idiot and resorting to statments about "leftist literature" shows that. Go watch some more Fox News. We people KNOW what it's like because we work at this place, remember?) All I know is that Starbucks is about simple greed. Am I right? So take advantage of 'em. Make sure you take your personal days. Go to the dentist once a month, and the eye doctor too. Always take your markout and sell it on ebay (how do you think I pay for cable internet?) Customers giving you crap? Give 'em some terrible shots and the oldest milk possible while grinning from ear to ear. As for stealing things, that's up to you but I make quite a tidy profit. Thanks for listening, starbucks I hate you.

Life is so short, life at starbucks is an eternity, its like a vortex that swallows you hole and pukes you back up with an acidic precursor and of course a nutty aftertaste. I knew a guy who worked at the mall who has like this weird facial tick from venti light coffee 4 times a day. You gotta see the nerves twist and contort and I swear he wasnt like that a year ago. Maybe the incredibly stupid shift supervisor cleaned the inside of the coffee maker with k5 or whatever that super strong cleaner is called, dont get that stuff on your hands or yer screwed. Anyhow back to the tick dude, he was probably the first to drink this poison and maybe it happened a few times. The shift supervisors get sat on and squashed by their superiors, Ive seen dozens of extreme nervous breakdowns, fragile young women going psychotic in the most bizzare fashion. The only way to feel a necessary balance is to steal as much as humanly possible, this in turn only made it worse, hopped up on 12 or 14 espresso shots especially the ones i made(ridiculously strong) a total nervous wreck I'm workin as a barista and because i stole so much shit, I always worried about getting caught. Plus I was late all the time and stealing hahahahaha, HAIDABUCKS!!! I still never felt better, the whole place made me Ill and warped me even more.Plus I got ratted out by all these rat faces. The most horrible bitches work at starbucks, some real whores, and most importantly some real good fine people are starbucks too. I dont want to get off on a rant here, but I'm glad starbucks exists atleast for me, I mean I was so crazy. But all in all, starbucks is here to stay just like george bush and pollution, sit back and watch all this neat stuff.#427442742744274, 1105180, signing out.

Pastries taste like rat poo because when you come in to store to open it, most of the pastries have been eaten into by....Rats.Fair Trade doesn't sell because it is a not so great tasting coffee and it is more expensive. Why pay more money for a lower quality product?Starbucks took on FT and CTO to be politically correct. It wasn't something they thought of from the get-go.I grew up in an Italian household and heard for the first time in my life, a number of the "Italian" phrases that Starbucks uses.Self advocacy=termination. It is as simple as that. The conduct hotline is employment suicide.Other companies call it whistle blowing, Starbucks calls it "respect and dignity".Starbucks is not as great as their consumers see it to be.It is as any other corporation. But Starbucks *claims* they are different. That is where hypocritical behavior starts in this company.A new hire in my store was told that her two non-meal breaks were for bathroom breaks.Boy, did I get what for by my manager when I informed her otherwise. And I know what Sally Shift feels, I too, had gotten it when I told new hires about personal days and the day-off request policy. The District Manager said at a district meeting, for all Store Managers to let him know who was working shifts when snapshots came in below 100% and he would *guarantee* that he would remove those partners from those staffs. This is a website that a lot employees and others find resourceful albeit not fact finding and hard hitting. For some of us, it is name calling and cheap shots after a hard day at work.Rob, stirring things up aside,if you aren't defending Starbucks, what is your purpose?

Its nice how they give you so many different benefits, like the paid personal days. yah i've been working there for 2 years and just read a few weeks ago, each partner gets 2 paid personal days per year (8hours) one in jan-july then another aug-dec or something like that. told my mgr to pay me for one, took the lazy mofo 3 weeks to finally get around to it, then i told everyone else to take theirs, so sorry i made so much work for him. this is the manager that is constantly on vacation. recently he threatened disciplinary action on shifts for poor snapshots (below 90% and 1-2-3 stars) FU i know whos bonus is based on snapshots, anyone else have a $$ monger for a mgr?? i think it is a pre-req for the position.
